Well kinda not really. I really, really, really only have room for two more machines. Rita is looking for one for me and the other one I want is in Mesa. You could be real nice and go and pick it up and bring up here to Washington State for Me.

I really think we should have a place where individuals that would buy something for someone on the site would Idehtify where they were at and if they would provide the service. They could be reimbursed for their gas and time or like me if it was in my area and you sent me the paypal money I would pick it up and mail it to you after I gave it my once over. No guarantees attached but would look for obvious problems. I sure would like Pachi talk to think about this. (SID ) ???

Don't worry I 'm not interested-I was trying to find out the details on that machine for a mutual friend on here. Also, good idea on setting up some sort of place on here where people could provide their contact info to obtain local machines for others.

We kinda do, it's the membership database. Just above the Avatar column is a search link. Click that and click Advanced Search. In location put Mesa and 3 members from there come up. Now only one has been on this year, but he does have an AIM link. Also, if you put in AZ in location, you get 13, although not all Arizona. Of the 5 that have been on this year, 3 are from around Pheonix, 1 from Tucson and 1 from Kalamazoo Another idea is to search for AZ in user names, and look at some of those. azlew comes up (Arizona Lew). Just has his zipcode, but it's Pheonix.

Maybe more people need to put their city/state in their user profile

But I do like the map thing too, just not exact locations.

Perhaps I am going to be the wet blanket here... I think a map would be fun just to see the scope of our membership and would be useful in planning pachi-meets and such, but I am not sure I am in favor of putting up a map for the purpose of soliciting help in picking up machines for others and so forth.

This site has a great many members willing to help out others if possible, I have been one of them in the past, but I'm not so sure how I would feel about getting a PM from someone I didn't really know and being asked to pick up a machine and ship it.

I still think the best way to handle that situation is just how this was done... post your situation and see if anyone steps forward to help. If no one is able to assist, then you need to find another way. Just my humble opinion.
