Mr. Magic Pachislo machine, $50 and spinning wheel issue.

"Hey all,

I have someone in my neighborhood who has a Mr. Magic Pachislo machine (along with over 300 tokens). I have attached a pic.

Anyhow, he wrote the following to me:

"The last time it was used, it worked flawlessly. It has sat without being used for over
5 years. When plugged in, one of the wheels continuously spins and doesn't stop. It is
in great overall cosmetic condition."

So, I will try to talk him down to $40 or $30, but either way is it worth the $50? I would hope that the spinning reel is a result of a loose cable, or dirty button (from what I read on here about trouble shooting).

Is there anything else I can ask him for clarification on the problem - to help guess what It may be causing it?

maybe just a stuck button or poor connection to the button board.

could that also be a bad control board? (asking someone who knows more than me) Even if it's that, they're not more than $20.

$50 seems like a fair price. Sounds like a dirty button optic from sitting in storage.

Does the reel eventually stop? Could be button, could be reel sensor.

I am not sure if it eventually stops - I would have to ask.

As long as it is in as good condition cosmetically as the owner states, I am going to pick it up.

So, what's a snazzy phrase I could use to tell him why I only want to pay $30? hah...

Well in the "broken" condition, I would pay no more then $50. I would shoot for $30 to $40. Enjoy fixing it. I love working on this machines & fixing them.

I have a problem with the center reel studdering as well, tried cleaning connectors with spray, did not help, the reel works ok when you switch the connectors from another reel, someone said the control boards cost about $20.00, I would gladly buy one, any sources? Thanks I have enjoyed this board.

sometimes you just may need to reseat the connector a few times to get it to work properly.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY AND THE WELCOMES,I HOPE I can get this machine fixed, it was so much fun when it was working. I must have had all the connectors apart 4 or 5 times, had the little board out twice, checked the continuity of all the wires going from the board to the center connector and all was good, the only thing I haven't done is check voltages on all wires at the center connector and compare to the ones that are working., I also have not used the pen type de oxy from RS.
I think if I had another board I could check that and see if a component on the board is bad, I thought about replacing all the diodes on the board and maybe the capacitors. Past that I'm lost.
I would even consider buying another machine to use for parts.
