i had an almost a complete morgan siver dollar collection, short 10 coins all high priced ones.

i sold it last summer and put most of the money into pachislos.

pachislos and pachinkos are more fun them looking at a collection of dollars.

investment wise it probably was a bad move.

On the subject of coins... Anyone have a Pachinko or two they would like to trade for early 1800's BUST HALF DOLLARS. I Love these coins but they just ain't much fun to play with!! These are nice coins XF-AU Grades and good investment. I do deal in coins on ebay but these Bust Halves are left my personal collection and I haven't listed any of these on ebay before. I may in the near future if no one wants to do some trading. I will do a post in the correct area for this, I know this ain't the right place but since the subject of coins was already brought up I wrote this here too.

I have been reading this thread with a little interest. While I don't have the intentions that the original writer has about taking one with me when I go to friends houses or whatever I am thinking of a couple options to buy one or two at, relatively, local places and take them with me rather than pay for shipping. Problem is that while I have a decent size car, I don't think it would have the height that I might need to carry a pachislo. Is there a problem laying them on their sides during transport? That might get me 2 in my car. Otherwise laying on it's back and only taking one at a time? Am also thinking of getting one for my girlfriend and having shipped to me then taking it to her. Ability to transport would certainly effect a buying decision.

As long a you remove all the tokens and secure the hopper, you should be able to lay one on it's side without issue.

Ask the vendor to wrap in skid wrap so the door does bounch around. and protect the paint and plastic from scarfs. :-)

If it helps you any....we had 4 people go down to 7mile slots to get pachislos...I was getting one, and I THOUGHT my buddy planned to buy ONE. I have a 2004 Grand Am, and it turns out that the trunk is only big enough to put ONE machine in without folding the rear seats down (I'd hoped 2 could fit, but NOOOOOOO....), and it rode on its side, no problem....The other machine (my buddy only got one, cuz we couldn't fit 3 in the loaded car) got carried across laps in the back seat. And again, it rode on its side, with no issue. We simply made sure there was nothing banging around on the inside of either machine, and they came thru like champs.

One of mine, that I helped the FedEx guy get off the truck was upside down and it didn't hurt it a bit. (Hello, there were stickers on the box that said "this side up!") As long as you don't bang it around while it's laying on its side, all should be just fine.

Thanks again for the replies I have been getting to my posts and questions. I think I have posted 3 posts so far and sooooo much good info.

I was up until 5am looking into the deep cavernous outreaches of this site and the various links that took me all over the place. In fact, I think it was the 7 mile website that I found the answer when I saw pictures of the loading and unloading of the container where some were upside down and others on their sides.....

I was a little uncertain though as those were, clearly, before major testing and inspecting so any loose connections, damage or etc. that might occur due to such transport would be adjustable or repairable when arriving at the shops. Of course I knew that the tokens would need to be removed but was mainly concerned about other movable parts or the hopper etc. if bouncing on the interstate while in a bad position. Thanks for the reassurances.

hmm ok back to the initial question Im about to move mine too and agree if it got here ok, then it should be good for a couple hrs to NJ. I was thinking though of laying it down on its back any thoughts about moving it that way? (go easy now)..... I am serious as I want to make sure all the mechs are ok that way. (I removed the hopper).

I've moved plenty of them on their backs. No problem as long as that hopper is out of there!
