    Default question on titles

I am just curious as to why these JAPANESE games have ENGLISH titles to them? I just figure if they were made for a Japanese audience they should have Japanese titles written in Japanese. Any thoughts?

at least in the last few decades, it's been very stylish to have english words on your clothing and stuff. you seem some pretty hilarious japanese to english translations on t shirts and stuff

for the old vintage machines, I don't know why english. because their country was occupied by the U.S.? they wanted the visiting servicemen to be able to read them?

maybe someone who knows more japanese history can chime in.

they do have western translations of japanese words a lot.

a lot of servicemen used to go to Japan for R & R over the decades and we have our base there too

I'm sure U.S. dollars were never frowned on there.

and now it more of the western culture that the Japanese can'r get enough of

I've seen English words on older machines, but I think we come up with the names. Not sure they actually had names, just what they were making that month/year. As long as the design met with laws/standards, graphics/words could be anything. Probably something like making cars, hardly any two consecutive cars come off the line the same, it doesn't take much to add a tulip or change the center design - the plywood is probably cut the same, laminate could be anything - how many with the same plastic pieces have we seen with different backgrounds?
