Try and find a Fishtales. Lots of action and a good family theme. Out of my 9 machines, that gets the most play from adults and the grand kids.

I am looking to buy a Lethal Weapon 3 close to central NJ if anyone knows of one that may be available.Frank A

    Revenge from Mars is AWESOME!!

I will never ever ever part with mine

Not sure what the going rates are over there for them though, they seem to cost a lot more compared to regular pinballs over here

And of course there is more to go wrong with the pinball 2000 because of the computer system used in them, I must admit that really worried me, having two of the PB2K's to maintain, but there is now the NuCore system that will enable them to live on!!

As with most things, your costs only start with the initial purchase, then it's maintenance and spares to stock up on

but that's all the fun of ownership!!

I would suggest that whatever pinball you do end up buying, that you do some research into availabilty of parts etc etc

Good advice. Thinking ahead for repairs is probably a really good idea, and not something I would have though to look into.

    My wish List

    Funhouse
    Tales of the Arabian Nights
    Orbitor 1
    Pinball Circus
    Varkon

A Funhouse is being assembled for me so that is going to be acquired.

A Tales of the Arabian Nights ( One of the best looking and playing machines of all) I have been searching for but have been holding out for a near mint machine.

The rest are just dreams as I dont have the space nor the money.

One thing I have discovered since buying Pinball machines is that you are going to have to spend at least $500 in parts in order to get the machine up to perfect reliable condition. You simply cant trust the sellers and you really never have enough time to really see the machine details when buying . Its when you get them home that they start to show how poorly and improperly they have been maintained. Even if they look perfect at first sight its not a good way to tell the whole story. In other words dont judge a book by its cover when it comes to funtionality and true component condition.

Pachinko machines are expected to need some work (at least vintage pachinkos ) but they are near free to repair or get to near perfect.

New glass usually being the most expensive item.

OK- Found a JACKBOT pinball near me for $1,100. good or bad price? The guy takes them completely apart and cleans everything, then re-assembles before selling. He also has a Who Dunnit and EARTHSHAKER for about the same price. Any opinions on them?

    What else he has available.
    Fish Tails, $2,000
    South Park, $2400
    DR. Who,
Jackbot, (7.8/10) Looks great. A lot to learn and play.

Revenge from Mars,(too much $$$ for me - though REALLY cool)
    Space Jam
    Earth Shaker, $1100
    Who Dunnit, $1100?
    Freddy a Nightmare
    Roller Coaster Tycoon

There is also a diamond lady nearby for $500.

Jack Bot is in the price book at $ 1,550. Fish Tales at $ 1,825. South Park ( 2002 Stern) $ 2,450. Earthshaker $ 1,300. WhoDunnit $ 1,625. His prices are about average. What kind of service is available and does he warranty the machines for 90 days ? Good luck in your search.

I'm sure you've heard of Mr. Pinball Classifieds. This is a great source for machines available in every area. They have a section for pictures and you can get a good price comparison from the listings. Good luck in your quest.

You might drop by your local bowling alley and see if any pinball or other arcade games are available. If there are, see if the company that services them has a sticker with the name and number on it or just ask who services them. You might find some local guy willing to work with you on something he has on a route.

He warranties them for 30 days, and has a service guy that can work on them after that. It DOES seem like he does a thorough job shopping them. It's not just a quick wipe down.

I would think you could find several deals with someone looking to deal here: September 25-27, 2009: Kansas City Pinball and Arcade Show at The Heritage Hall in Liberty (Kansas City), Missouri. This 3-day event will feature several tournaments for all ages and games set on free play. Liberty Missouri is just outside of Kansas City and this event will be help in conjunction with the Liberty Fall Festival.

OMG! I played that last night and it was SOOOOOOO much fun! But I said I would absolutely NOT get it because of the computer. Somehow I missed that in you post when I read it before. That puts it back in the running! Now if only it wasn't $2,800 USD

I gave them a call- as of now, they're not selling anything. No auctions or anything. Just play.

I'm seriously considering that one, since clue is one of my favorite movies. But right now EVERY piece is off the playfield fr cleaning, and the slot reel motor is dead, so they're waiting on a new one to come in. I'll be able to try it out in a week or so.

I have a friend that just got a Varkon. She said she bought it from a guy that had 2 and she also knows another guy that has 2. It's pretty strange that she knows where 4 of the only 90 made machines are.

I played it a few times...it's defiantly different. When you look inside the cabinet the playfield is reflected up. So the playfiels looks straight up and down (like a pachinko machine) but since it actually only angled 6 or 7 degrees it puts off a strange optical illusion that the pinball is kind of floating and not falling nearly as fast as it should.

If anyone doesn't know what this machine is or is interested in seeing what i'm talking about here is a link:
