I bought and resold a new xbox hd player, now the buyer says it was resealed and wasn't new and wants their money back along with return shipping.

i contacted the person i bought it from and this was their reply

Hi, the lot that I sold you was from my own personel collection. I sold you a new sealed hd dvd player. When you received it I'm sure you saw that it was new and factory sealed. If you sold it to someone and you never opened it, you definitly sold him a new factory sealed dvd player. It sounds like someone is trying to get you to take back their old broken one and keep the one you sold. I have sold over 770 items on E-Bay and have never ever sold anything that wasnt as described. In this case the hd dvd player was listed as new and was sold to you new. Your argument isn't with me, it's with the buyer thats trying to get over on you and then me. This transaction went thru smooth and well

Did you make note of it's serial number before shipping it?

i sent him the info the other seller sent me, he got very irate, maybe we all got took on this "factory sealed box"

I'm refunding his money and return shipping and will test and relist it as used.

Think that's a good idea to make a note of serial numbers on those sort of items

Check the unit serial # & the one on the box when you get it back to make sure they match.

Ask them to e-mail you the serial # on the box and the serial # of the one they are shipping back in that box. Tell them you have the serial number of the one you sent them.

If it's not on the Up and Up, they may think Twice about it.

I have bought items from Walmart that turned out to be someones return. The item looked new and sealed. One time was a door bell, it was broken and had a old corroded battery in it instead of a new battery that you should install your self. One time was a radio, had a broken antenna and kid writing on the instruction book.

I've heard some stores have the shrink wrap machine in the back, just for that.

thats possible, it could be a repackaged store return.

someone at our local Walmart bought their young son a new psp, when he opened it and turned it on there was a memory card in it loaded with porn

Walmart said it was a store return that accdently got put out for sale.

I guess after that the orginal owner didn't want to go get his memory card back

I have had trouble with hellmart and returned things on the shelf as new.

Radio shack is worse about that, I was told by a manager that items that are returned get resold untel someone just keeps it.

the player was returned today, it is the same box and serial numbers match,

when i was looking thru the instructions i found a reciept from a 2007 sale from a game store in n.j. so, it looks like we all got took on this deal.

but i'm the only one out $22.00 in shipping both ways

Unless he shipped another back in it's box, not knowing the original serial number kinda hurts.

it was the same box, i noticed a small corner tear on box on the picture i had on ebay and this one matched

Maybe go back to the guy you bought it from and ask why there was a receipt in the box when it was supposed to be sealed.

i did, he already insisted he knew that it was new sealed and the guy must have swapped it out
