    Default PF Arrived

Alright well the UPS guy dropped off the Power Flash this evening. Overall it's in very good shape with the requisite spiderwebs and lots of dust. The ball tray in back was broken as I predicted would happen during shipping. It broke into one large piece and two smaller ones so i'll epoxy it. Other than that the cell is very clean and almost no dirt on the playfield. The innards look to be in order but it is missing a power supply so I'll install one this weekend. The front glass is actually glass as opposed to plexiglass. This particular machine looks to be either newer than my other one or has been played less due to the cleanliness of the playfield as well as the lack of wear on the sides of the pockets which I have noticed on my other PF in the form of slightly flattened sides on the pockets. More so on the right side tulips as that is where most of the balls go. Anyway looking forward to cleaning this one up and getting it running.

my powerflash broke the same way. about 5 pieces, but glueable.

since the PF is more collectable, I planned to swap the tray from another nishijin B

after that experience, I tried to convince sellers to either take the tray off or to put the two "feet" on top to protect it at the corners.

    nice machine.

if you can find the dual voltage transformer, that's easiest. mine had radio shack number on it with two taps. the higher one being just over 25 vac, second being half that.

johnny knows exactly where to wire into.

    Very good info.
Yep I told the shipper that was the part that was gonna get broken if any. So I wasn't surprised. I'll epoxy it until I come across another B model and the nswitch them out.
I do have another of the same transformer that I used on my other PF so I'll go with that one and use a 9 volt for the lights.

are you going to do the 1/2 tulips at a time mod?

do you have two of the same, or one thunderbird and one little man (I can't say chinaman b/c I'm chinese)?

I have two of the "littleman" themed ones. I am on the lookout for the thunderbird model like you have. I originally planned to change the one I got in today over to the modded form but when i found out how easy the mod was I changed my first PF over. I enjoy playing it with that mod so it will stay the same and the new PF will remain stock. After checking it out some more I noticed that the plastic frames in the machine that control the opening and closing of the tulips via the solenoids are brown plastic in this PF as opposed to black plastic in my first one. I know it's a trivial detail but I find those small details interesting.
