Question In Tokyo one more day

    Hi all,

I'm in Tokyo just one more night/day this week, residing in Ginza right now, and looking for a parlour with some older machines (any type) to enjoy. Hikoki-dai would be ideal, but as I well know, beggars cannot be choosers when it comes to finding pre-2000 machines...

New pachi machines, and pachi-slo, just don't do it for me.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

    Hi!

I'm not sure if there are any near Ginza but there's pachinko museum near Ueno station. There are lots of old machines and some are playable. More information in this thread (with map).

    Been to Japan lately?

Even if you weren't able to find the pachis you were looking for, I hope you still had a great time in Japan!!

    Thanks - we did.

I'm just not into the new CR's with all digital screens. To me, the essence of pachinko (ie. the 'pachink' of balls on plastic and nails) is becoming more and more secondary to the video in the middle. And those interminable 'Rushes', 'Chances' and 'Fevers' - all with accompanying video clips that take sooooooooooooooooo long to cycle through ... Yeuch!!!

I never got a chance to see the Museum this time around, and could not video in the Ginza parlour nearest me without getting kicked out, but I did the next best thing for you all - I videoed a late night Pachinko show (really just a half hour advert for new pachinks) straight of Tokyo 12 TV. Here it is - please to enjoy the authentic Tokyo parlour experience, circa July 2009, complete with annoying Japanese late night male hosts and cursory female interest

I have more, but these are too big to go on my server right now.

    Thanks for the video!!

Sorry you couldn't find the kind of pachis you like..I see some non video type pachinkos still announced every once in a while..but I guess it must be hard to find them in the parlors with most being the video kind..

Awww... if I had popped in earlier I would have told you about the one in Asakasa.

Not only do they have some older pachinko, they have the original glass ball game with plungers, which they let people play for a modest fee. No actual winnings or prizes, though.

    EDIT:

And, given your last thread, I might have pointed you towards a palour south of Shinagawa next to Kamata station which has a bunch of older hanemono pachis... Sadly, full price. I only play in one yen palours nowadays. Otherwise it gets WAY too expensive.
