The Big Bang is no theory!
I woke up at 6:00am this morning to a very big bang!
An impromptu visit to my mother living in northern Manitoba put me in a bitter sweet situation. The local mining company had just demolished a recently abandoned mine shaft head-frame which was situated only a few hundred yards from the bed that I was sleeping in.
This head-frame was large enough to be a land mark while I was growing up. As a small boy playing in the bush miles from town, I could always find my way back by sighting the familiar red shape. Ah well, that's progress.
These videos don't do the concussion wave justice but it did a good job of stunning the mosquitoes into submission for a while.
