Alright well as soon as I got home and I did the mod. It took all of about 2 minutes and worked as advertised. Next I am going to put quick disconnect connectors on the loose ends of the white wire and that should about do it. Again a very cool mod!

does it pay out as much as the thunderbird?

as a note, if you don't want to bend the arms, you could unscrew them and turn them 180 degrees (so arms fall into the empty space).

I've never played the thunderbird version (still tryin to get my hands on one) so I can't make a direct comparison but the chinaman version definitely pays out more and the sometimes long stretches between jackpots are shortened. In part due to the fact that the pink aces are unaffected by the yellow tulips now. I know it's not stock but I do like this mod better.
My second chinaman PF is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and I am pretty sure it will play the same as the other stock ones but I'll let you guys know if there is anything different or unusual about it provided I can get it running. In the pic it looked to be in good condition but I have extra transformers and solenoids just in case though.

Has anyone ever noticed that there is a Green Cell, and a Blue (or maybe cyan) cell?

I cant tell if its just aged, or if that is the way it was made.

Both of my "little man" themed Power Flashes have the same blue color field as yours. This Wednesday a "thunderbird" themed Power Flash will arrive at the house so I'll see if it matches yours.

Yep the "T-Bird" theme playfield has a greenish hue.
