    Default FedEx

I won a DDK on ebay last week. FedEx tracking said it would arrive today. I waited and waited and waited. 3 pm nothing, so I call. I was Guareenteed it was on truck and would be delivered by 8 pm. I waited some more. 7 pm I called again. Apology, apology, empty apology....I waited some more, 8pm came and went... No FedEx...No DDK...But as a song once said...."The sun will come out tomorrow...."

I've found FedEx online tracking much less reliable than UPS tracking. UPS hasn't missed it yet, Fedex gives the wrong date about 1 time out of 10...

That said, hope you post your thoughts tomorrow on your new DDK! Love to hear how much you like it!!!!!!

I will give a full report. I made space today for the new arrival. The basement just looks soooooooooo sad with an empty spot there just waiting to be filled. I played a little with the other machines, but they just knew something was wrong....there is a lost sheep out there in the wilderness.

Say it ain't so!!! If FedEx screws up the date for me, on top of all the time I've been waiting for PayPal too, I'll be old and GRAY by the time the Lucky Cat gets settled in! Course, I'll also have 48 other machines for it to play with.......

FedEx Ground has always been spotty for me. Before Christmas they missed several deliveries, being a day late. However, more recently they actually got 2 deliveries to me a day early.

UPS almost always gets thing to me on the day promised.

Another weird thing about FedEx vs. UPS is that I have had UPS contact a driver in the field to fix a missed delivery. I asked FedEx to do that once and they said the only trucks they can contact are the ones that do their "Express" deliveries. On their "ground" trucks they can only contact the drivers "if" they have a personal cell phone, "and if" they happened to give that number to the dispatcher.

fyi, the UPS contact a driver thing is easy for them. I worked for them over Christmas and they contact the driver through the board that they carry around.

I used to sell books, Price Guides, on ebay and sold several hundred thousand of these books. Not saying this to brag, it just that back when ebay was new a seller could sell 99% of the items they listed and usually at excellent prices. That lasted till about 2000 or 2001. By then I had many other sellers competing with me and none of us were selling at the previous high percentage of things we listed. So I just quit ebay in mid 2002 for over a year - I didn't even bother to keep my old user Id on ebay active. ANYWAY my point is selling this many books I got in large shipments at least five days a week from different publishers. Some shipped FedEx and others shipped UPS. Publishers don't package all that good and at least 80% of my shipments had a few damaged books, the ones on bottom where boxes were just tossed or dropped. UPS was the worst of all. FEDEX was usually better about not damaging but sometimes they misdirected and delivered a day or two late because of this.

More recently my first Pachislo purchase was shipped to the wrong town... FEDEX took package to IRWIN TN which is 250 miles east of ERIN where I live. The address and zip code on package was correct so they had no excuse for this screw-up!! Second Machine I got from Pachislo USA looked like UPS tied the box on a rope and drug the box behind the truck all the way here but Robert packs them good so the machine was in "Fine Shape"

My opinion after dealing with UPS and FedEx for many years is neither one gives a crap!!! And by the way... Airborne Express who I also received some book deliveries from was the worst of all. One book order came to me after they had split open the box by tossing it, books had spilled out. They just stuffed them back in and didn't even tape the box back shut and brought them to me that way. One of their drivers delivered a shipment to the wrong address, left them on the porch of a neighbors house, got back in his truck and drove off. This was in the summer time, my neighbor was sitting inside with the door open and watched this happen. Lucky for me he's an honest person and called me to come get my packages. By law he could have just kept them!!

My old user id was Confederate_Post_Office as I also sold stamps, coins, and Confederate Currency (hobby items I personally enjoy). The books was just a business that died down after a nice run of 5 years.

My DDK arrived at about 2:30 pm. I talked to the driver for a bit. He apologized for the delay and explainrd that FedEx has too many idiots working for them. He was real nice (an older guy, maybe slightly over 50). He told me that he hates the website tracker. He said it always seems to be posted to arrive a day earlier than what it really should. He had no clue why, but my package was put on the wrong truck yesterday? Anyway, it all ends well...the box looked like it was handled with care...The DDK appears to be in mint condition. I got it from PP and got the extra 450 tokens...The laminent case he does looks great, but it covers the handles, which makes it hard to carry around with you. I played for about an hour or so, dumped over 1500 tokens in before getting a bonus chance. No DonDon chance yet....I have to say, I am a little disappointed in the DDK. After all the hype, it didn't live up to it for me. It's a good machine, but the music isn't all that great, and the Bonus chance was adequate at best. The machine looks too "plasticy" for my tastes. After all is said and done...I prefer my Azteca Legend over the DDK!

Maybe you need to get in Bonus Chance mode to appreciate the machine :?: It's not the most playable out there (spin luck, Harley, etc.) , but it can be very entertaining and is still one of my favs. I'm not about to sell mine yet!

In fact, DDK is usually a favorite of people who stop by to play and don't have a clue about the pachislos. Maybe it's an "easy" play?

I like it and probably will hang on to it. It just didn't live up to the expectations I had for it. I have played it a bit now, it's growing on me. I just thought it would do a better job with lights and sounds...a bit bland...I'm Italian...I like it spicey!

I think you might liek the Giga Fever a bit more. I "like" the DDK, but i really like the Giga Fever. Ive had both, and cant say enough about the GF. They look the same, casewise, but the lights on the GF make it alot better looking.

I will keep my eyes open for a giga fever. I'll look in the museum to get an idea of what it's all about.

I like Giga Fever better than the DDK, but like Dragon Dice even better... and then Harley/Spin Luck is favorite.

Get a Dragon Dice, that one won't disappoint and sells for much less than the SL and Harley.

Darned if IGT doesn't make fun machines!

It's the green glass with the lightning bolts and cross check pattern, reminds them of the green computer screen thing.

Yesterday when Lucky Cats arrived, I was out getting lunch for the family...my son (13 and brawny) heard the FedEx truck pull up, so he ran out to greet LC. I'm told that the driver simply dropped the box off at my front door (I live in a subdivision, in an 8 unit condminium with a locked lobby, but all unit #s or residents names posted clearly outside at door), hopped in his truck, and left. Is this "standard procedure" for these guys or what?? My son dragged it up a flight of stairs for me. Didn't think he had it in him!! I had to tip him $5 just cuz I didn't have to do it. Told him he can do the same each time I buy one, woo-hoo!
