    Default Mizuho

    Hello all,

I am new to the sight so I hope I am posting in the right place. I got this as a birthday present years ago and it is high time to start fixing her up. So I have decided to start buying replacement parts for my Mizuho-among other parts for the car/house/bike/car etc. . Anyhow, I am looking for the following parts parts:
-winning ball tray and cigarette holder (Just trying to keep the same color)
-The decorative metal that the blue ball holder is attached to-has some rust on it.
-The clear plastic piece in the back that cover the pivoting mech.
-One of the green lens covers is missing.

If it needs to be moved please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Mike

you may have trouble finding the exact ball tray, but someone may have one that will fit from another vintage.

for the green lens, you might cut a piece of acrylic or mylar in that shape and use that.

for the cover over the rocker arm, a clear mylar sheet, left over from packaging will work and it's easy to cut to shape. I did that on a sanyo, and you really couldn't tell it wasn't stock.

what's wrong with the ashtray that's on there? ashtrays for individual machines are hard to find. vintage pachinko wanted $50 for one for a nishijin A that I had, so I made a block to fill the defect, and painted it aluminum color.

the front metal under the blue tray will probably come mostly clean with steel wool. use 00 steel wool or finer and most of the raised rust and corrosion will come off. can polish then with chrome polish.

    have fun, and welcome

    woo hoo. another pachi meet!

I had mike over to my house, and we went over his mizuho.

in really nice condition, and his dad had made a nice case around it (heavy as heck, though).

the octopus thing in the center jumps from one side to the other when a ball goes through.

we took the back down, found a small screw and a paperclip blocking the upper ball track... how DO those things get in there?

his machine has the same pivot point problem that my sanyo's did, just above the jackpot regulator, so it will be a deep disassembly to get to that arm and clean that axle.

showed him my cleaning tips, gave him a curved instrument, and I am certain that he will have a fully restored machine soon.

the wires to the switches are still there, but cut off from where the battery connection would go. probably a 15 minute wire up, and he'll have lights, too.

Mike has a lot of attention to detail (more than I do, for sure) and was keeping track of which screw came from which spot.

only part missing is the clear cover over the jackpot regulator, but a small piece of mylar or acrylic would work there.

he's looking at other machines, too... the addiction spreads... did you know pachi collecting was contagious?

    Nice machine
Love may Mizuho. So far my favorite to play. You can see I am missing the ash tray altogether. Not a big deal for me. The ugly formica along the bottom will probably be replaced soon.
