Beatmania Mania new video attached

As of late some of you may have noticed my posting of video/reviews of pachislo titles I own.
Maybe, maybe not... not alot of feedback.

Anyway I was all set to start my lastest offering (a trilogy of sorts) when I had an accident at work with a sheet of metal.
So I had to put The Pachisho on the back burner.
As I sat in my comp chair, passing up OT at work due to injury ... I started researching a newer pachi that struck my interest.

I found this model quite impressive & other than one mention from the Incomparable MrGneiss, I didn't come across much other info.

Apparantly the Beatmania (or Bemani) franchise has been around for over a decade,
but seeing as how I don't spend much time in the arcade's (with the other "almost 40's") & I loath PS2... I knew next to nothing about it.

How do you know what you're supposed to do?

Is that on the market now?

It is a 2008 title, so I'm doubtfull that it is readily available on US soil.
It'd be nice see it within the next 12 months.

Notice the section of the screen to the far left...
As the notes drop to the bottom you must hit the appropriate button.
It all seems a bit complex, but on the pachislo version you have a few less buttons to learn.
I think it makes for an entertaining twist to the bonus rounds.
The thing I don't fully understand is the ART or RT payout.
In the remix vid I did, I didn't notice any payout during or after the bonus.
There seemed to be no coins hitting the tray during the gameplay.
It gives you a score depending on your performance as well as a DJ rating.


I'm definitely interested in seeing more on it.
So feel free to update if any of you find more.

I'm quite excited about this machine. seems like the best of both worlds: pachislo and a rhythm game. Luckily the pachislo version appears to be a but easier. I've tried to play the arcade and ps2 versions of beatmania many times...failing horribly.

Has anyone seen one for sale in the states yet?

It's a 2008 machine.

Will be a bit before they head this way if they even do.

Then again you could order a 40 foot container and I'm sure you could get a couple of them thrown in.

im very keen on this machine too.

I'm a bit of a music game fan, I know a bit about the games. the video through that link is quite a difficult song, there are much easier ones you can start off with. I would imagine the pachislo is similar, I seem to remember reading somewhere it had different difficulties.

I think theres some regulation which says pachislos (probably among other things) are not allowed to be exported for two years after their release (or manufacture, im not sure which). so that means NOBODY outside japan should have them until next year at the earliest.

I threw in "pachislo beatmania" (パチスロ ビートマニア) in katakana and got alot more results than typing it in english.

searching for スロット ビートマニア (slot beatmania) comes up with a few as well, but most of the results are the same as above anyway.

You usually have to go through a shopping service. ^ ^;;; Well, for pachitalk there is Kiai and I think his e-mail address is floating around somewhere. Well you can also try japamart.com, rinkya.com, or any other bidding service you like?

I dont mind going through a japanese site, it's just registering to them that seems to be the hard part..
does anyone have experience registering to any japanese sites which sell beatmania?
I thought most of them require you to be living in japan.

oookay,
it took me just over an hour, but I managed to register to yahoo japan then to yahoo japan auctions, then send a shipping price request to the seller in english and translated to japanese as well.

just hoping for the best now. if it turns out the seller will do it, and it's under a grand (aud) then I reckon ill try to buy it. that leaves ~$400 for shipping.

japamart has a limit of $20kg items to australia and they charge a fair bit with their fees anyway.
