Top Ball Hopper On Machine & Some Advice

Hi All

Can someone please let me know the function of the ball hopper on the top of the machine. I figured out how to flip over the fork at the top, then fiddled with the white guide below it , and all the balls shot out !
How do I set it up to work properly?

Also does anyone know a supplier of pachinko balls in Australia and a contact name.
Oh and why I'm at it, can someone explain how I can score properly on the machine? At this stage I shoot the balls and use the FORCE, but actually having some idea what I was doing might be handy.
