    Default My first completed cabinet

This case is about 5 years old, I don't think I ever posted it - I've been a member for a long time, but then my pachinkos (except for the one in the pic) got relegated to a junk room where I couldn't easily get at them. Now the room has been cleaned out and the bug is biting again. I don't think I ever posted a picture of my wall case. It is based on some cases Syph made for his machines.

Plexiglass fronted hopper at the top. Wood ball return at the bottom. All made from bog standard pine 1x8 and 1x10 boards. After it was done I routed the edges to give it a finished look and stained it with a dark stain.

This is about 5 years old. I have 5 other pachis to hang, and I think I'm going to do a few things differently. I'm going to make the top hopper a closed box with lid instead of visible (dust likes to settle up there) . And I think I'm just going to put one of the parlor ball baskets down at the bottom instead of a built-in wood one. (It's a pain to scoop out the balls)

I'm also thinking future cases will have a hole in the side so I can hit the ball gate and empty the top hopper.

Here are some pictures. First two are of the completed case. The last is of a case with the same design but incomplete. (Been incomplete for 5 years - when I procrastinate - I don't mess around )

    Wow, those look great!!

The two changes sound like the ones I thought of soon after making my cabinets..lid on top..damn dust and switching to a plastic ball box/bin instead of that damn scooping!!

Now just to finish them...its only been 3 years..

I really like that design, and I think the choice of the dark stain really works well with that particular pachinko

Thanks for posting for the pics!!

Now you know you need to get working on those other cabinets!!

    Follow up:
    1) Thanks for the compliments!

    2) Jungle King does look good in that case but I'm so tired of it... I swapped it for my Kung Fu Gal. After 5 years it's like getting a new toy. (Robocop and Festival story wouldn't quite fit, case built a hair too narrow. )

    3) I drove some screws from the outside to hold it, because I always had such trouble doing it from the inside like I did last time... which leads me to what an idiot I am... Pachinkos lift right out of the wood frame they come in when open... I didn't realize that. I could have easily fastened the frames into the case then lifted the pachinko into it. duhhhhhh. (><)
