Newbie with Questions ???

I'm thinking of getting a Welcome to Las Vegas Pachislo machine off of eBay. Total price with shippin is just under $230.00 Does anyone know anything about this particular machine? Good or bad, I'd like to hear about it before I spend the money on it. I wan a Las Vegas theme to go with my other collections of "real" slot machines. I'm going to attempt to attach a picture of this machine to help you all identify it. Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me.

Thats a 2003 sammy machine called Hokuto no Ken. Its a martial arts theme game. the belly glass just has that welcome to las vegas sticker over. Its not worth much more then $100. There are much better American theme games.

That machine is a custom. The original machine is normally worth about $75 -$100 dollars then they add the decals to the belly & upper glass. If the machine had a video screen (decal will now cover it) then the video card is removed so that the screen can not be used. The problem with that is you will be missing all of the video action. There is no change to the reels or the sounds from the machine. The machine is worth as much as you want to pay for it. But if you decide to sell it later do not expect to sell it for the price you are paying. There are several companies making this custom so they are NOT rare.
If you want a real good custom then PM devospeed to see if he can make one for you.

DON'T DO IT! Have a look on Craigslist for something for sale locally. You will find something much better that hasn't been messed with.

Sorry just my opinion.

Alot of times customization decreases the value (both monetary & entertainment) of the item.

example #1: I'll sell you a rare Superman #1 comic with a cover that displays Superman in a "Spiderman" costume.
(Which I will have photoshopped the cover of "Supe" wearing the "Spidey" costume)

example #2: An original VHS copy of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, with the audio replaced by the audio from Patrick Swayze's "Roadhouse".

Neither of said examples actually exsist, they were conjured for comparison only... no offense to Patrick Swayze. (TikiTim wishes him well)

footnote: Devospeed does excellent work, just in case a custom machine is what you yearn for...
I must admit, a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader machine has been my dream for years

A BIG thanks to everyone for the information and their welcome!
A main reason for wanting to get one on eBay is that it has a lifetime warrantry and comes in good woking condition with tokens. By the way, you can see in the picture I posted that there IS an uncovered LCD screen on the top of the machine, so there should still be graphics showing.
As far as other BETTER American themed machines, what are their names and where would I look for one? Craig's list machines worry me.
And finally, WHO is DEVOSPEED, what does he/she do and what kind of prices are we talking about? The Ebay machine is only $148.95 with $79.99 for shipping. I live in Camarillo, California.

As far as american themed what are you looking for? English speaking games like super blackjack, spin luck, Dragon Dice. austin powers, these are just some of the better ones but there are a lot more. Actual American themes? like red,white and blue, the Real Las vegas with the wheel, Rocky, Elvis, Twist, Harley Davidson.. again these are just some of the beter ones.
The game you are looking at is a very Japenese martial arts themed game. Not very American or English speaking at all.

Chris, I'd like to keep with the Las Vegas theme. What's the one you mention, the Las Vegas one with the wheel? Where can I check it out and how much are we talking about?

post a few more time and then you will have access to the research center. Its filled with all sorts of information. Las vegas by Olympia is semi rare. they show up from time to time they tend to fell in the $250-300 range. check out Spin luck (looks just like a Wheel of fortune)there was one listed by me on Craigs list for $400 or best offer. they use to sell for over a $1000 a few years ago.
