    Smile Old Penny Memories

A couple of weeks ago we visited Bridlington, a seaside town about 20-30 mins up the coast from where we live

Walking along the promenade / sea front we saw a sign for 'old Penny Memories' so off we went to see what it was all about

It turned out to be a small 'hands on' museum of old penny arcade machines, lots of Allwins, penny pushers etc etc

What I liked was that although it was Free Entry that day, I found out that it only costs about 50p to enter normally and for that you get a handful of old 1 penny coins to play on the machines with!!

Yes it really is 'hands on' there was quite a few families there enjoying the simple old machines, Although my 4 year old was scared of the Jolly Jack laughing sailor

just off the main room we found a small dark room where there were a few old pinball tables!! These were 10p and 20p each play,

We managed to grab a few pics

If you ever make it to California, Ang, you might want to visit the Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Sounds very similar to what you have there, and they maintain many of those old vintage games.

Just found this entry on the IPDB regarding 'Tuck Shop'

Seems it was a pinball style game that awarded tubes of sweets, and was made by a local Bridlington company, so probably not too many of those still about
