    Default Clueless With Wiring

Like so many others, I am having a problem with the wiring. I am totally clueless when it come to anything electrical, but I don't think it will be hard to fix the wiring with some direction from you folks. I have read several posts regarding the wiring, but it's all like it was written in a different language. I honestly just need "connect the red wire here..connect the green wire here...etc. I have a 1970's Daiichi machine that (after cleaning) works great except the lights aren't connected. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Here you go! Thanks in advance for the help. There just doesn't seem to be that many wires, I don't know why I can't wrap my brain around it.

your machine looks to be missing more then a simple power source.. looks like the micro switch is missing off the top.. and the wires look to be cut as well??

can u take a closer pic of the upper most right(where the power would be hooked to) and the point just below the ball hopper (upper left) where the wires are cut..

can u get a pic of the lower right where the wires are conceled under the plastic??

Sheesh...shows you how new and ignorant I am...I didn't even know I needed a micro switch. ugh lol Here are some additional pictures, I hope they're what you needed. As far as wires on the bottom right behind the plastic...there aren't any. I think the hanging red wire gave the illusion that it was connected to something, but it is just dangling. I agree that the wires appear to be cut, I assumed replacing the wires would be easy. lol

There are red wires that are attached to light bulbs. The other ends of these wires are either just hanging or connected in the upper right hand corner (where the bulbs are). In the third picture in my last post, you can see a red wire coming up out of the plastic, one end is connected to what might be the "win switch". (The orange box you can see at the bottom of that same picture.)

I think that is the "win" switch. and the leingth of the red wire makes sence. At least you can get that one working untill you find another leaf switch.

You need power to the lights and the switch will be in the path somewhere. when the switch parts touch each other that completes the loop of power, and the light comes on. (I am a simple man and am sorry if I talk to simple)

Oh I prefer simple! In fact, how's this for simple...regarding power...would I connect the red wire from the "win switch", and the red wire from the bulb to the positive on the battery? And, connect the matching green wires to the negative? (I know the actual wires have been cut, so this is assuming those wires have been replaced and are long enough.)

It is hard to tell where the wires lead to from the pictures but I would guess the switch has a red and a green wire comming from it. If so I think the power would go to the two nuts on the upper right corner where the wires all come togeather. One in front of the red and one in front of the green.

If I am wrong I am sure that someone will corect me soon. There are lots of people here that have better knowlage than me. My experience comes from "try this...doesn't work...try something else.

    hey sew,

if you need a leaf switch or micro switch, I bought a few extras for this sort of thing, and I can send you one.

that daiichi looks a little older than mine, but the wiring's all the same.

can you post a picture of the front?

    how's it coming?

    chewy

p.s. digital and gneiss, thanks for remembering my vids. I just looked at them, and it's amazing how much I've learned since then. I did those videos while thinking out loud, in terms of debugging the circuits, and it's entertaining to hear my gears turning...

Thanks for the video link and thanks for the offer for the switches! :-) Unfortunately, The restoration has been put on hold for a couple of weeks, but will keep you posted on the progress when I get going again. I am so appreciative for all of the help from everybody! As far as a picture of the front...I think there's one in my album, if not I'll post one as soon as I'm back. Thanks again!!!
