Black Box and Switch.
On the back of the King Kong machine just under the ball hopper there is a small black box that vibrates and is quite noisy. Does anyone know what it is for? Non of my other machines have one. All I can think of is that it stops balls getting stuck in the hopper but then it doesn't shake the machine that much.
Also to the right of the 4 position volume switch is another 4 position switch. Does anyone know what it does? I've tried it in a 4 positions but it doesn't seem to do anything.

My Star Trek has a box like that. It only shakes if I run the machine out of balls in the top hopper. I think it is supposed to help with ball jams.

The vibrating box is to prevent jams in the upper hopper.
My best translation of the 4 position switch is 'Mode' - 1,2,3,4, not sure what it means. I've got a couple with that.

Thanks. When I played the machine when set at 4 after a few spins the screen changed to a different background. Maybe when it's set at 1 it just stays on the one background? I'll test out this theory tomorrow.Originally Posted by compirate

for the switch at the right, I'm not sure either, but maybe it's something like on my Alien vs Predator, it seem to do something with the sound, bu more like for exemple: 1= no sound during ..., 2= no sound during something else... and so on.. but I'm not sure.. It seem it change something on mine, kinda the sound is less present

I played the machine today for a while when set at 1 then at 4. It seemed that there was more action on the screen and more reaches when set at 4 but it could have just been a coincidence, I'm not fully convinced.
I did notice that the King Kong lettering did not light up once, even during 2 fevers. I know it works because when you power up the machine it lights up but I have yet to see it light during play which seems odd.

maybe you need to be in a special fever or mode for it to work.
I have one light in what looks like a mirror on Evangelion 1 that only lights when i hit a special fever.
