are cell swaps like that realistic???

Probably just before they went to electronic shooters and were experimenting with the replaceable cell, can't say there are very many of those out there. Saves making the entire frame every time.

I've seen several for sale like this over the years...now that I think about it, I think I have a magazine article('82) with the person that ran the Pachinko Palace stores saying something about how parlors just swapping cells had been making it much harder to get enough complete machines cheap enough to keep supplying places like Sears and all their own stores (because the parlors weren't getting rid of Whole machines as often, just swapping the cells)...I think thats what it said...I'll have to read it again some time

The gentleman was nice enough to ship these to me. I did have to pay $65 plus shipping but still a great deal. I have sold about 12 of these over the years. This time I am keeping them for my personal collection. One is a boxing theme and the other is a guy with two very long swords or polls that open and close as balls enter.

    I'll have better pictures soon.

    I've stopped counting

It is about 60-75. I am thinking about opening a pachinko parlor.

I don't know whether you are serious or not, but I've often wondered if such was really possible in the US. The days of the 1970's style arcade are gone (in my opinion), so the only way to make it work in the US would be for it to be a full-scale gambling situation. Since I would imagine that the casinos don't want any competition these days, I would suspect that it isn't viable at this time...still...it would be fun...
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?

why not a paly for fun kinda place?? like one of thouse places that gives out tickets when u win.. then after u ahve pumped on a 20 dollar bill or two worth of quarters u take the 2 or 300 tickets u won u cash them in for a cheesey prize>>> wax teath anyone??

the bigest problem i see nowdays would be peps swiping the pachinko balls... or worse yet trying to bring in ball bearings and screwing up a nice machine

    just a thought

I've been wondering about this too. Would love to open a small place with pachislos and pachinkos, but don't think the non-gambling market is big enough to sustain it. Dave and Buster's works, but they also offer more than just arcade games. The way kmhamel did it works, he added some pachislos to his bar lounge and they use the same tokens as his other token taking games.

You'd definitely need to invest in metal detectors so the balls and tokens don't walk out the door. Might also need the arcade cases for the pachinkos where they can't touch the balls.

Bigdog I love your signature line.

I'm not that serious because of all they reasons everyone has mentioned. But we can all dream of something other than an office job, right?

Just do it as a storefront. People can come in and play, and buy the machine they're playing if they wish.

that would be a great idea for a business, although if it were me running it, I just wouldn't be able to part with any of them!!
