I agree with Chris W, they are used and we should understand that.

I wish the vendors would be more descripive of each machine. So we would realize what we get for the price of that machine.

All the way around, we wouldn't expect new, and the vendor wouldn't promote all most new.

I think the reason they aren't leaving you positive feedback is because you haven't left them positive feedback. They are reserving the right to slam you if you don't worship them. If they've got good feedback and want to keep it that way, then withholding feedback makes buyer think twice before posting negative.

A negative for a seller is a lot worse than a negative for a buyer. Generally sellers aren't too worried about a buyer with a negative, but I am very leary when a sellar has negatives. Just my 2 bits! :-)

It's the age old question. When to leave feedback? As far as the seller leaving feedback, it should happen at the point the item is paid for. That is the end of the buyers responsibility in the transaction. Now with that being said, there's crazy buyers out there and they (the sellers) have to protect themselves in some fashion. Withholding feedback is their only way.

However this does delute the value of ebay feedback. A lot of people are leaving a positive even on a so-so deal because of this tit-for-tat mentality.

One reason I have not left feedback is I have been waiting and giving the time to respond to my email. I agree that I got a good deal at 89.00 and am happy with the machine. It does not bother me to do a little cleaning and deodorizing to get the smell out. I enjoy the machine and like the overall look of it. I sent them an email to tell them about the musty odor and that I thought they would like to know. I also think that a vendor or seller should describe the product truthfully. If it is not refurbished to like new condition and that they only will sell a machine in that kind of condition, then don't say it. I know they are used, not my first one and would rather know the true condition. I am very happy with the price I got the machine at even in its condition. I also would like an email back thanking me for at least bringing it to there attention. Happy customers bring more sales and referrals.
    and a few others.

So if you plan on buying from them, set up a special account to use that you could care less whether you get a neg in response or not.

And, your point is? Shouldn't the seller be allowed to leave a negative? Look at the -1 on the first buyer... looks like a real jerk to me.

Bidding ended on that auction 2/5/05. The buyer didn't leave a neg for almost 2 months.. Left it on 3/27/05

I think the buyer was right..

Not that I'm defending 5stardeals, but it all depends when and how he paid... according to 5stardeals, they shipped the day after payment. If he sent a personal check a few weeks after the auction and then they had to wait for the check to clear, etc. Can't tell from the feedback, but, the buyer certainly has no track record. This is the only item the buyer has ever bought or sold one eBay.

5stardeal has 58,000 feedbacks. In the past 12 months, they've received 35973 positive and 206 negs. That is less than half of one percent and there are times with new people that you can't avoid receiving bad feedback because the eBay newbies don't have a clue what they're doing. I'd not be a bit afraid to buy from them based on their feedback, that's fer sure.

Then answer this one, is 5 star as a major selling of "mostly cheap crap", going to wait a month or better for payment before they do something? Knowing the run-around that Gary received from them, I'm inclined to believe the buyer first in this deal.

maybe so. Guess I really wasn't thinking. the -1 is due to 5star. but even if ups delievered on the 28th, should it take over 50 days to recieve an item? I know I would be throwing a fit if I had to wait that long for something after I paid for it on ebay.... I know when I won my very first auction from pay to recieved it was 4 days total and I thought I was gonna die. Guess its just a newbie thing....

ok slotter you made a good point there.... never really thought about that. but I really don't agree with sellers waiting for feedback first... the buyer has done his part, with payment, Personally I don't agree with that kind of procedure. I currently have 16 feedbacks to leave for sellers but I refuse to do it, cause I feel the seller should leave first. seller had first experience of commitment of the the deal so should post first.................

Tulsa, I was just talking about their leaving their own bad feedback when they receive bad feedback, not about whatever junk they might sell...

Scooby, I don't like it when the sellers wait to give feedback, either. Unfortunately, a lot of sellers do that. :02:

it seems like the guy took forever to pay and then gave negative because it took to long to deliver.

i had someone give me a negative for slow shipping, they took over 2 weeks to pay and it was a movie sent media mail.

i stated in ad 7 to 10 days delivery and i mailed it the day he paid.

Just thought I would through in my two tokens.. I purchased my Beast Sapp from 5-Star and shipping was fast and in good condition when received. It did develope a reel light problem but they did take care of it for me. If the price is right for a machine I was wanting I would buy from them again.

If you look at all the negatives they get (and there are A LOT of them), in their opinion it's almost always the customer's fault. Having been a customer of their's, I have to say it was one of the worst buying experiences I have ever had. If I had to place a bet on whether most of those customer's were providing accurate feedback and 5star was giving bogus negatives, or vice versa, I'd certainly bet on the side of the customers.
