Default Hmmmm... 5 Star Deal Auctions?

    Check this out,

An Outlaw for BIN price of $175.99, S&H $59.99, 2 year warranty, & 500 tokens.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...82481&rd=1

Wonder who they are buying from and getting the warranty through?

The auction states this, but I think it is on all their auctions:

"Why are our prices so cheap?"
We get asked this question all of the time...The answer is simple! We are the main distributor for this item in the entire country! If you see this product being sold elsewhere, chances are it came through our warehouses first!

Has anyone dealt with them before. Arby, you know everybody - got any scoop on these guys. I'm sure there is a lot of inquiring minds that want to know.

I think 5stardeal.com is the same as trademarkpoker.com. They are at the same physical address. This is the company that supplied Larlin Gaming - you remember, the guy on eBay that thought he was having specific machines drop shipped, but the deal really was for random machines.

When I talked to trademarkpoker they said that they sell the machines wholesale for about $100. They fill the orders in the order the machines come out of the warehouse - no selection of machines. They also said that they were thinking about getting some "higher-end" machines and selling them as specific machines. Apparently they have started to do that. 5stardeal.com has been selling gaming items (mostly chip sets) on eBay for some time. But this is the first time that I know of that they have sold pachislos directly to the public. My understanding is that they sell very large quantities of pachislos wholesale to dealers that want cheap generic machines.

My own experience with them has been mixed so far. They have promised that they will clean up the mess made by Larlin Gaming. I applaud they for taking that stand. However, they still haven't shipped the Bull Dog they own me. They have made several promises. It was going to be shipped by the end of last week. Oops, out of boxes. The boxes would be in on Monday. No boxes on Monday, it would ship on Tuesday. No boxes on Tuesday. Absolutely certain the boxes would arrive on Wednesday and my machine would ship. That should have put it here today. It did not arrive. I called and left a voice mail yesterday, no reply. I emailed them today. No reply.

So for right now I am reserving judgment on them. If they get this problem sorted out soon, great. But, I won't have anything good to say about them until they actually deliver on some of their promises.

Here's a link to something I just posted about 5stardeal aka trademarkpoker. Thought I'd mention it here in this thread as well as this is the likely place people will look for info on 5stardeal when they are searching the database in the future.

after reading their feedback, my oppinion is RUN!!!! I will never buy from 5star.

The only thing they seem to have to offer is some good humor on thier replies to the negative feedback.

I recently got a Super Reno from them, just okay. Machine is in fairly good condition, musty smell to it. Had to do a little deodorizing to it. Also the metal plate by the max bet button bent a little. Not the cleanest machine I have ever received. This is what he say on their auctions. "Your machine has been totally refurbished and brought as close to new as possible but some normal wear might be evident due to their previous use in Real International Casinos. We only sell the machines that are the closest to being brand new as we can get them." I did get a good price on it 89.00 + 59.00 S&H. I did send them an email about the smell and never received a reply. Have yet to leave feedback as well.

Do you feel they lived up to their claims in that ad?

Not even close. The nicest condition machine I have purchased so far came from slotusa. Waiting to get my DDK from pashislo.com and see what condition it comes in.

Shouldn't that dictate what type of feedback you leave as a responsible buyer on ebay?

First, have they left you a feedback though? If not, I would wait for them as you're liable to get slammed back if you give them what you feel they deserve.

I have not received feedback from them yet. That is one reason I have not left feedback, I do not want to tarnish my 100% positive with a retaliation. I probably would not give them negative, probably neutral. Machine was well package, quickly shipped and again a good deal at 89.00. Condition was not close to new as they state. I definitely would not buy a pool cue or sword from the with the feedback I see on those. :smt064

Very good point. Always wait until you get yours. Why get slammed for something that you had no control over.

    I would wait.

Certainly the ebay feedback system leaves a lot to be desired.

I personally would think that the neutral wouldn't be unfair based upon them not responding to questions, but we need to be careful about slamming vendors just because our USED machine we bought for under $100 doesn't look like brand new.

Many of the top vendors have standard ad text that carries over from ad to ad that hype the condition of their machines. Only certain vendors are conscientious enough to sell scratch and dent machines under a separate pricing structure, and even with those vendors, sub-par models have been known to slip out.

Some of the big vendors exaggerate the rarity, or imply the machines are newer models than they are.

Does PP deserve a negative because my RARE Crazy Shaman is serial number 14,892, or because it's an early 2001 model was described as new for 2004?

Sorry if I'm ranting, but it seems like there's a new thread every day from someone that got a machine for under $90 that is upset because it's not the nicest machine they've ever seen.
