    Hey all,

Cool. However, the Pachinko I bought today, has a "key" - it seems to be a carpentry staple with the points cut off. It works fine, and the lock is intact.

I'll include closeups when i get my thread up.

There are two common keys for modern pachinkos, long and short. Used to open the glass door or the whole machine.

The round keys (modern and vintage), there's a lot of different ones of those.

    Teddy,

Not a dumb question - you have to learn somehow!

If your machine is mounted in a wall, or in a separate cabinet, the only way to get behind to the game to clean out balls, work on the machine, reset something, etc, would be to swing it open.

Also, if you needed to open the glass (as mentioned above) for any reason, that would be another reason.

However, many people at home just have the machine in the open, not enclosed so if they need to get behind the machine, they just turn it around... Plus, there's a lever to open the glass back there - so you wouldn't need a key for that either.

But c'mon, if you have people over, and they see the key hole, and no key - it will drive 'em nuts...you can flaunt it around - heh...

    Hope this helped,

    Matt!

My key is from a lockbox for papers, documents, etc. The grooves in the key don't matter in my case (obviously) - just the notch that catches the shaft.

$0-99 start price, but as these are listed quite often you should be able to get one for that without bidding the price up

Not a door key question, but a reset key question.

My son hit the jackpot on my Sanyo Scarlet pachinko. I do not have a reset key. Can anyone tell me how to reset it without the key and how (specifically) to replace the lock with a toggle switch if I cannot get a key from anyone.

Are you sure your talking about a pachinko and not a pachislo? I've never seen a reset key for a pachinko.

Pachinko uses balls, pachislo uses tokens.
Figure out which one you have and post your question in the proper technical support ticket section. Some one will either have your answer or point you in the right direction. Pictures always help also.

I believe that this has been discussed before also, so trying the search at the top of the page should point you to where you need to go.
