Default Beeping & Lights Won't Stop

Hi everyone! This is probably dead simple but I'm quite new (read: ignorant) to the moderns and it's one hell of a learning curve from the vintages.

I have a Sammy Fruit Field modern machine (thread in the modern section) that was played until emptied, let sit for an hour, then unplugged for the night. The next morning we plugged it in and it started beeping LOUDLY like a fire alarm with the lights in the upper left flashing on and off. I assumed it was the ball empty light, unplugged, filled with balls, and plugged back in. Still beeping and flashing. Still loud. Can shoot the balls and play but cannae get the damn thing to stop beeping!

HELP!!! Is there a reset button or summat that I'm not seeing?

if there is a reset button, it would be somewhere near the on/off switch.

if it doesn't have one, try powering it on and off a few times.

Cool Re: Beeping & Lights Won't Stop

I'm almost certain your machine is trying to catch up with payouts. If you can drop 100+ balls or so into the top tray and they spill out the front, then that will be the case. Just keep pouring balls through the machine until the beeping stops. This may take several thousand balls if in fact it had a 'fever' in one of your previous sessions.

Let me know if this helps.

Unfortunately it's not payouts. When the tray is filled with balls nothing happens.

Check to see if there is a mechanical block somewhere along the ball chutes in the back, specifically from the top tray to the payout motor. Some machines have a hinged plastic device that can drop into the track to stop the balls. Sometimes, it can be a simple metal clip.

You may also have a ball jam. Start exploring the machine. You might find that some components simply swing away to provide access to what's underneath. Also, when you swing the cell front open, you may find a small lever to open the bottom/front of the machine to check for jams.

I don't know if anyone's asked, but is there an LCD displaying a number (error code) on the back (or front)?

Cheers for the suggestion about the blockage - I'll take a look at that.

Haven't noticed an LCD error code but I've been looking at the back where there isn't an LCD display. I'll have a look at the front when I plug it in tonight.

This is the first gen CR frame, I have one, but haven't seen any place for error codes. Check all the connections from and to the black box at the bottom (unplug em and replug em).

DID IT!!! Don't know the reason why it happened or what exactly I did, but I fixed it.

I took apart the black box in the feeder line that feeds the jackpot payouts. It came apart in my hands before I could get a visual memory of how it went together, so I was distraught. However, I plugged the machine in and the beeping was gone so I knew I had found the problem.

There are 2 pieces inside: a little rotary piece with a motor or pot on it, and another piece with some tiny electronic piece on it (sorry for all of the technical terms ). When I figured out how they fitted in, getting those 2 pieces touching or too close or summat would set off the beeping. Unplug and try again. After several careful attempts, I was finally able to reassemble the whole thing without setting off the beeping. Shot some balls through and it's working perfectly again, and paying out just fine.

Thanks for the helpful hints, everyone!!
