10 vintage pachi's for $200!!

hi guys. I got the pachi's. they're safely in my garage in salinas, awaiting minor restorations. it's quite a nice collection and most of the machines are in excellent condition. a few stains on the cells, but all the parts are there and it shouldn't take more than a few minutes a machine to have them working.

several nishijin B's, a couple A's (front side pix only). one with an extra electrical center, not sure if that's for the lights, one nishijin single shot conversion and a few others that are shown below.

looks like i'm going to have PLENTY to keep me busy. and, I did promise the wife that I would start selling them off. i'll clean them a bit, get them working and add electrical, so they're worth at least $50-75.

also, I plan to personalize pachi's for my friends. "personalized pachi's for the peeps" themes so far are pugs & penguins

What a hoot. I just got back last night from my odyssey to Kentucky and back...haven't really had a chance to bond with my new machines. To boot, I still have several vintages that I haven't touched...and I'm jealous of you. I'm sick...sick, I tell you.

I am really a fan of the very first one...it has the little slides on the side...that model seems to be a rare one...I don't see it often.

yeah bigdog. these machines have interesting pockets and slides. I was happy to see that the first nishijin had these, and the silver ball looking things in the right lower corner. it's a nishijin B on the back, though.

btw, I'll sell machines to pachitalk people for $25, as is, to cover gas, once I figure out the "keepers". should probably have an "A" for mopar and one or two that shock could trick out.

if nothing else, lots of my friends are getting pachi's for Xmas...

Maybe I missed the discussion somewhere...where did you go to get these? Did you find them on craigslist? How far was your roundtrip?

Just curious. I took a wrong turn in Louisville, and it cost me 10-15 minutes of time. If it hadn't been for that, my girlfriend (live-in) would have never known what I had been up to...she had been out all afternoon and got in and called me when I was about 4 minutes from getting home. That said, she did find a stash of 7 vintage machines under the stairs in the garage by accident one night...all in all, I guess I'm not fooling anyone...including myself. I have a problem. Is there a 12 step program for Pachi-addiction? I spend more time hunting them down and working on them than I do playing on them...

these machines were in paso robles, which is about 90 miles south of salinas. I drove from berkeley to get them, so it was about 200 miles each way, but stopped at my place in salinas to store them (more garage space there)

I've been getting into trouble with craigslist ever since someone mentioned craigshelper, now searchtempest, that lets you search within a given radius from your zip code. that's how I almost drove to fresno for the machine that mopar got...

i am trying real hard NOT to search craigslist or ebay... if nothing else, all the space that the machines are taking up is getting to be a problem. got to find good homes for working pachi's.

still wish we could set up a little pachi parlor in south berkeley (just next to oakland). I figure we could have people buy balls and then turn them in for prizes... like crack and doritos for my 'hood. of course, i'm sure that we would get robbed or shot, or both, if we had something like that in the area.

i'll be interested in your modern machines, too, since i'm brand new to them. I just got my jaws machine from san diego, and it works. I don't know how you debug the moderns, except for maybe replacing parts? suppose it will come to that some day.

HI! Great find. Some nice ones in that mix. I like the Nishijin_A's and the "hybrid"(1st pic 2nd set) very much.

The only thing worse that using Search Tempest is creating an RSS feed with the search string. Then the Pachi ads come directly to you every 15 minutes while your computer is on and pop up on the screen.

well, maybe delusional, but not a liar!

in fact, the pug modification is for my wife's best friend, and the penguin mod. will be for our friend in san diego, who picked up and baby sat my jaws machine.

it's so good to be back on pachitalk regularly. if not for the all you can eat buffets that I waddled back and forth to, I might have had pachitalk withdrawal in the pacific ocean!
