A Hershey theam is great! I like product theams that the company didn't sponcer. I thought of a Mt Dew theam for a motorcycle I once had but I would get in trouble "Getting vertical with Dew"

If you can cover the cell with a solid color then you could use several smaller stickers to decorate. (easier to come by than a 13 inch logo)

My machine "had" a chocolate brown tray to start with, that would be a great head start.

I do expect a new Hershey thread to follow.

Hey how about a Ramon Pachi???

I tried to get some help from both Mars & Hershey's when I refurbished my candy machine. Neither of them was willing to help with anything, so I just did it all on my own. Since my Vintage Nishi is directly across from my candy machine in the Bar/Gameroom, one will definitely be Hershey, maybe the other will be M&M's or something to that effect.
Does anyone know if a vibratory tumbler can be rented? Money is very tight, I don't think I can justify a purchase.

hey digital. I just found this thread after mopar referenced it in another one.

great job! I love how the machine turned out.

    a few questions

how long did it take to pull all the nails?

what kind of vinyl stick-on sheet did you use? did you use a color laser printer to print the design onto this?

how is the printed design holding up with the pachinko ball flow over it?

any problem with the edges coming up?

I'm still contemplating water stain coverage ideas, and it might work to cut out a couple designs from the vinyl stickers, if it sticks well enough. thx for your ideas.

Pulling nails was scary but I didn't have much invested yet so I went for it. The nails are twisted at the end so I started with pliers and turning them out (not easy) and they didn't come out clean. The cell raised up and the nails got scratched.
So using the hammer with tape on the claw did the best, it raised the cell laminate on some nails but not as bad. Remember this had to be better than CLOWNS

I probably spent about 30 - 45 minuts pulling them all (there is more than you think!)

Putting them back in seemed faster but probably not. Using the tool I made for height and bending they went in easy. Most of them you could feal when the nail hit the bottom of it's hole and then I'd check the height and it would be perfect.

I was playing that one last night and i think I did good with nail bending too. Plays well and I was able to hit all the pockets (eventually)

The vinyl is trash from work (printer), we have a machine that can print material up to 8 feet wide and unlimited length. When he starts a job it can waste about 18 inches at the beginning, so when they cut it off and pitch it, I grab it.

The graphic is from the high end digital printer that I run. Much better quality. I can print a sheet upto 14 inches wide. So I made the coke logo a 13 in circle.

It hasn't faded, worn, or peeled yet but it hasn't been played like every day either. If it does wear I think it will look like a vintage machine (neet idea huh)

If the vinyl starts to peel I would put glue under it like fixing peeling wallpaper. Make it pretty now and fix the problems that might come later.

The vinyl I used is very WHITE if you want it to still look vintage maybe you could have a local printer print a light color in the background and print your other immages on at the same time.

is it vinyl stick-on like for bumper stickers? I found some sources for that, and those usually stick REALLY well.

    THANKS for all the info.

sorry I missed this in real-time, but better late than never, I suppose. (and I learned about spoilers, too).

one other thing. I ordered a few recordable greeting card inserts. planned to record the barking dogs for my dog themed machine. PM me and I can send you one, if you want to record the coca-cola song for jackpots.

I found two Coke Crates at a garage sale. That gave me the inspiration to start my cabnet.
I want it to be a big crate like the ones I bought.

I found a skid top at work that had wide boards. My daughter and I took it apart. She helped me figure out how big each board needed to be.

We started to put it togeather and I found a can of red spraypaint.

The pictures are what I have so far. I am not done but I like to see how it fits so far.

No, I could have but didn't think of that. But I did decide that if it starts to wear it would look more vintage. So it would be OK.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered this tumbler from Cabela's. Can you tell me about the process & where to find walnut or corncob media very inexpensively? I think I remember reading something about Pet supply stores carrying something for a fraction of the cost of buying from a gun store. Thank you,

I got my CRUSHED WALNUT SHELLS from petsmart.
They sell it as bedding. I got a 5 pound sack for under 3 bux.
After cleaning 10K plus spheres, I still have 3/4 of the bag unused.

I have found that the longer you use the shells, the better they work.

make sure you leave some empty space to help the tumbling process.

i would think 1/3 balls and almost 2/3 crushed walnut shells

anyone else want to chime in
