    Cool Coke Machine?

If I find a machine that needs a total makeover. I would like to do a Coke theam.
I can do the background graphics. But I'm not sure if I'll be able to see the nail holes through the label.
I have seen old bottle caps that haven't been crimped yet, They would be cool on the spinners.
Red spraypaint for the plastic trays.
Backlit sides on the cabnet with a flouresent bulb inside.
Maybe the sound of a bottle openning when you hit the center jackpot (hey Shock)

My first machine would work perfect design wise, but she is my baby.
The one I just got wouldn't be right with the way the center is, and it is too nice to tear into.

So I guess I need another machine. (good logic eh?)

I drew up a mockup of my idea, what do you think?

As an avid Coca-holic (I drink probably 3 a day at least) I think it's a great idea!

My suggestion would be stay with the Older Classic coke style... although it really hasn't changed that much over the years. eeeww. ewwww. ewwww.. I know... get one of those 'micro digital recorders' and record the old...

I'd like to build the world a home,
    and furnish it with love,
Grow apple tries and honey bees,
    and snow white turtle doves.

Then you can play it back with a jack pot!

Use this 'phffffssshhhhssss' for the opening of a tulip.

Oh man, can I see this! What a great idea!

Yes! It would work well. AllElectronics has a CCD light kit (Cold Cathode) that looks just like a florescent light for about $15, its available in 8, 12 and 15in, and a surplus voice (noise) sampling circuit for $2 - or you could easily find one of those refrigerator magnets that has the "open and pour" sound to modify with a reed switch. Spinners... Hot glue gun!

I don't think its to hard to find a "junker" to mod. I'd love to help out on a project like that.

Do you mean after I take out the nails? Then put thin paper over it and poke through?

If that is what you mean, great idea!
I was thinking about trying that with the label but it would be to thick.

    I love the easy answers.

Be careful about removing all of the nails from the play field. Some of them are threaded, making them more difficult to remove cleanly, and it will take quite a bit of time to get them all back in at a uniform height and aligned evenly.

It's not impossible, just tedious and difficult.

Sorry I did not explain my self very well but that's exactly what I had in mind. Your best bet would be to use kid drawing paper. It comes in giant sheets.

I think it was Compirate that said to make a tool out of a screwdriver and cut slots into it. I would think that would force the corect depth when you put the nails in. As for the angle... I guess hope for the holes to guide you.

I just found some great vector immages of Coke logos. Free online. How cool is that? (Vector means they can be as big as you want and still look perfect.)

The kids and I were looking at the newest Pachi and decided none of us wanted a "CLOWN!" theam. So that is gonna be the "Coke" one.

We started cleaning the pins and I thought, "Hey I'm pulling them out anyway!"So the pins can go into a bath of vineger. (it cleans copper well so I'll try it on brass)

Now to deside what logos go where.

I have an idea for the center, it flips back and forth so I thought a can of Coke that that goes from one person to the other, and under that I can put "I'd like to buy the world a coke and keep it company"
