today was a great day at the goodwill bargain barn

they were just putting out new loads of stuff when i got there.

i found almost 100 45rpm records from 60's and up, along with a plastic tote and a kmart portable 8 track player with the optional ac walwart

but, i couldn't find one 8 track tape to buy to test it.

the player turns on when you put a tape in and has a push button on top to chsnge tracks

they usually charge more for just the records than i paid

The Goodwill in my area is a lot more expensive... you have to really look. I once picked up a set of six plastic dishes that I thought were cute. The price was $6 which I thought was pretty expensive... then I turned them over and they were factory labeled to be 99 cents each retail! The Goodwill had them priced higher than the MSRP!!!

the bargain barn gets all the stuff that doesn't either get put out or doesn't sell from all the goodwills in the area.

the cashiers are all spanish and charge you whatever price they feel like, it can change from day to day depending on their moods or if they like you or not that day.

large batches of small toys are 99 cents a pound, clothes are 1.49 a pound,

shoes are 2.00 a pair--people have a grabbing frenzy when they are put out

dvd's or vcd's 1.00 each, video game carts 50 cents to a dollar.

when a new batch of stuff gets put out its a mad rush to grab what you can

once a day, whatever is left gets moved out to the back and compacted or recycled.

I haven't found much the last week or so and today finally a good day at Goodwill

I got a semi-working stackable record player for $3.00, it hangs up when the records are ready to drop, other than that it plays very good

also 4 PS1 games with the disks in excellent condition for $1.00 each

and a vhs tape of disney uncle remus zip a dee doo dan sing along song for 50 cents

total with the tax was $7.99

Disney pulled anything related to song of the south, so the vhs tape should sell for over 10 bucks on ebay

I havent really found anything all week at goodwill

today I got there as they were just changing all their totes for fresh stock

    I hit paydirt

a white's metal dectector main top and scanning piece, no tube to connect them together

a gamecube with the gameboy player attached, controller, 2 memory cards and when i opened it up Mario kart double dash games was inside

and all the way on the other end of the building i found the startup disk and instructions for the player, odds of finding both of those on the same day that far apart are about 1 in a million

then i found a gamecube mario mansino game and a gameboy color game

an hp digital camera, then when i got home and put batteries in it powers up and down right away and lcd display is not working right

also 8 new spark plugs don't know what engine they fit

the gamecube, gameboy player, memory cards and games all work fine

i'll list dectertor and camera as parts or repair and split the other stuff up for resale.

the gameboy player base and startuo disk shoul sell for more than i paid for the whole lot

    Spoiler

the last picture is the gameboy color game on my tv screen using the gameboy player on gamecube.

Sometimes you can find the 'stems' for sale on eBay, I've seen them in the past on UK eBay

Detectorists often buy extra stems for the different search heads, we have a White's DFX and it has 3 different heads, so we have been considering buying extra stems so that it's easier to change heads

btw the one you have says it's a Coin Master and that is a model that my late brother-in-law used a lot, I am told he has a lot of finds in the British Museum that were found with a Coin master

Maybe you should keep that one LD and have a go at finding your fortune!!

I stopped at goodwill yesterday and didn't find much, I went to Walmart and decided to stop back and found almost 8 pounds of legos for 99 cents a pound

there were around 20 people in the lot, I ran some listings of the people on ebay and sold 8 pirates, natives, some sharks, a boat and few other pieces for 9.75 buy it now

I also sold 3 pink girls with a bunch of pink and girlie colors for 9.75

LEGO THREE GIRLS WOMEN IN PINK & MANY PIECES PARADISE - eBay (item 160426718916 end time Apr-23-10 16:20:45 PDT)

I still have 10 people and a medium flat rate box full of about 5 pounds to sell yet

here's a message from the lady who bought the pink lot

I am so glad you added all the extra pieces as i have been looking for pink windows and light pink pieces for i am trying to build a "rose cottage". i love the stairs and lampposts!! i am excited to get these...since i am confined to a wheelchair, i have grown to enjoy the building with legos. i can "run and jump and play" via my lego people!! thank you again. susan i am glad the one girl had pink legs and not lavendar! thanks i love pink legos and girly flower legos!
