when i was a kid growing up in Chicago my brother started working for a polish butcher, when he turned 15 I took over his job at the age of 10.
I worked part time for the butcher from 10 years old till i got drafted at 23 years old.
the whole neighborhood was polish and german bsck then.
now the high school i went too is all spanish and i just did a street view on google and the over 100 year old building is still standing and in place of the butcher shop is a spanish restraunt

the butchers father started the business and he took over and when he died his son took over, they were in business in the same location for at least 75 years.
the name was always walter's meat market.
i ran across his son's business card today
