    Talking Craig's list in reverse

I have been watching Craig's list for a long time. The same people with the same overpriced games. So I tried to put my ad in the wanted to buy section. I put a description and even a picture of the type of machine I wanted. I said I wanted to pay around $20.00.

I had a few offers from people wanting to overcharge for there machines. and one guy said there selling for around $200.00 and I'll never get one for $20 so he put his on for $150 and then $95 and now $75. I'm watching his price fall each month.

Then I got an email last night from someone diferent that said they had one that thet never got around to fixing up. If I want it for $20 to come and get it.

I Know it isn't an "A" Nishijin because it doesn't have the center tray. What would this be? "B" or "C"

It has one nail missing. I played for a while and kept winning one after another. I thought this thingwould put a parlor out of business but then i wasn't able to win for a long time. It must have been beginners luck.

I'm seeing many changes from the "A" that I have to this "B". One thing is you have to fill it way more often!!

Everything except the lights works. I need to get all the "FUR" out of it. The balls wouldn't drop to the shooter so I opened it up and about gagged seeing that furball in the track.

As the others have said it is a "B". Just incase your interested from the layout of the front and back I'd guess the machine was from between 1974-1976. I never noticed a big difference between how often you would have to refill between the "A" or "B". That mainly depends on how the pins are bent (or the spheres bounce) .

I have the ones I keep set so it takes a little more skill to get payouts. Helps keep my kids friends off them when all they do is always slam the balls full force.

Congrats on your new machine and welcome to the 'B' club!! Great work on the craigslist "fishing" expedition!

It looks like a cool design. How does that center pocket work? Is that a center lever that sways from side to side when the balls drop in?

Maybe I can offer some help on the wiring. There are two switches and two basic circuits. The jackpot circuit normally works off a switch activated by either the regulator SeeSaw about midway down on the right or the JackPot release lever at the top left. I can see either of these setup for the JP lights. However, down at the bottom seems to be another interesting method of working the JP lights. If that is a switch at the bottom right.

The hopper empty circuit seems to be intact except for light at the bottom. The light at the bottom I have seen on one other machine that uses that method to notify the player by making the shooter ball window glow red. The light is hooked up to the connections where the upper HE light is connected.

You are missing the main connection block and fuse holder that is normally located at the top right of the back. However, you really don't need this connection block, you just need to connect the power source to the correct wires.

Good luck and if you need more info, do a search on wiring/lights and you'll find lots on it.

    That is a nice machine!

You will definitely have to refill more often than a model a nishijin.

I am really surprised that nishijin (and others) didn't stick with the "Ball Recycler" as in the model a's.

    That's great! Good find.

I did the same thing - Posted a wanted ad, got the over priced offers and the usual people telling me how valuable, rare and unique their rusted, unkempt machines are, as well as how much they "go for" on ebay - always over $150... Then Fred, the Junque™ collector sent an offer. After a fun drive, a great conversation and a couple of cups of coffee, I acquired my 8 additional machines for $45.00 (about $5.00ea).

Obviously there were no promises of functionality, but a great learning experience and a new friend that wanted to see if I could put my money where my mouth was about fixin' stuff.

I glad to see others defeating the overpriced junk peddlers that think they struck gold.

I hope that you enjoy your "new" machine!

The center does move left and right by hitting little "wings" on the outer part. If you get in the pocket that moves, all the tulups open. If you get in the center but not in the pocket that moves(there is a hole behind it) then only one tulup on that side opens. You win 15 balls each time though. When all the tulups open you win several times in a row. (Is that what you call a feavor?)

The glass (thin plastic) has a crack in it but doesn't show too bad. I wanted to put some of the polycarb plastic "scraps" from work in the door but it's 6mm thick. I may play with making the edges thiner with something so it will fit in the door tracks. That stuff doesn't scratch too easy and it's bulletproof.
