Default Another "What happened in Las Vegas"

I ordered one of those infamous Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas pachislo machines. Yes, I knowI was not aware of this web site at the time. With that said, here is my story and questions/concerns.

I had it shipped to my mom in Virginia. Yesterday my brother visited her and I had him open up the box and check out the machine. Apparently there is some damage to the spin handle, one of the lights and of all things the ash tray. The hopper was unplugged and he could not plug it into the power supply/transformer until he straightened out one of the pins in the hopper wire connection. (See attached pictures). I asked my brother to open it up and turn it on to see what condition it was in electrically. He was smart enough to put coins in the hopper, after connecting the wiring and then he turned it on. There was an E1 error. Of course the shipped reset key did not work; hence he could not reset the machine and see if it even worked at all.
Looking at the 35 pictures he took the machine looks amazingly clean inside. Without even knowing if it works at all I am concerned about the spin reel handle. He says it moves up, down, left right and in and out. I am not so sure this is right (see picture of cracked plastic). Apparently there was a hole in the shipping box made by the spin reel handle so it must have taken a good whack during shipping. I am concerned it could have broken whatever senses the handle movement; I wont know until I can reset the machine and give it a go.
Finally I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the model or at least the maker by looking at the photos. I have more photos, but it looks like I can only attach nine at a time.
    Thanks.

Thanks, yes, looking at the reel symbols I have to say they are a direct match for the onimusha 3. The exterior photos sure look like the Gamera Hi Grade. It is great to get such a quick reply. As for the screen and top video section with fan assembly...I don't know. I am 3000 miles away. I will get to see the machine in about four months when I visit. Between now and then my brother will be there. I am going to have him replace the reset key switch with a toggle switch (he is good with electronics...Navy electronics guy.) I will have him fire it up and see where we are at. Sice the upper and lower glass are covered with the low end Vegas art I kind of doubt the LCD (if present) works, if it does a BIG bonus for me.

    I love this forum already.

Thanks, I thought so. I guess I will need to get the machine reset and see where I stand...it is killing me to be across the country and not have my hands on this

    Hello

If the machine was damaged during delivery to you, have you contacted the Seller??

They should exchange it for you or at the very least endeavour to put right any damaged parts by way of replacement or partial refund etc

If I find that the large hidden (by Vegas art) LCD IS defective what are the chances of finding a working replacement, and where would I look? I cant imagine a reseller covering up a working 20 LCD.

unfortunately, rather than scraping a machine with a bad screen or video board assembly, they recycle it as a custom.

Thanks luckydog. I figured as much.

I have never been a lucky guy myself. Last time I went to pickup a penny off the floor it was super glued down.

For these customs, they use good working machines and simply remove the video card so there is no video to the LCD screen. You might be able to find a video card for the Oni Musha 3 on Yahoo Japan Auctions so you can see the Oni video animation if you remove the custom face graphic.

Also the custom graphic on the belly glass might just simply be a vinyl sticker that you can peel off to show the Oni graphic.

Lastly before modifying the machine, contact the vendor that sold it to you and will be able to receive any replacement parts for damaged parts free of charge and free of shipping from their supplier. If those don't work the supplier will send a whole new replacement machine for free.
