it's that time of year to celebrate in Japan...

I must admit I love the sight of beautiful Cherry Blossoms,

Washington D.C. also has a wonderful "Cherry Blossom Festival" March 28 - April 12. I was fortunate enough to go up for the weekend. All the trees along the road and around the monuments were in full bloom. It was a beautiful sight.

The down side, everyone else had the same idea. Most of hotels were booked in advance. And the ride into the "National Mall" on the Metro was very reminiscent of the videos of the subway in Japan. Just when you thought no one else could get on, they would push 6 more people in. And once, a man with a baby stroller... I never saw him again.
