Unsticking Max Credit and 1 Credit button

Thanks to all who have offered to remove my ignorance. It appears the 1 credit and max credit buttons are stuck. How do I A. Clean them and B. Remove them to clean?

As always, any help is greatly appreciated as I attempt to bring this machine back to life.

open door look in from behind. chances are the max bet button is held in with a big nut and the other snaps into place and you will have to squeeze a couple of tabs to release it.
