    Default This One Works

I found another Craigslist deal and this one works which is a bonus.

I'm now the proud owner of a Speed Racer Pachislo (don't worry Luckdog I'll be over soon. This one was just 30 minutes from the house)

It's in not bad shape, looks pretty good after a clean. I found 3 of the reels bulbs out. Are these 24v or 12v bulbs? I know the transformer is 24v but on the power supply there is a 12v light.

The belly glass is a bit yellow on the inside from tobacco smoke so I'll try and remove that and give it a clean.

Looks like a fun machine, still waiting for a big payout.

monkeyboy-be very, very careful about trying to clean the backside of that belly glass.while i have never had a pachislot before,i have had american slots and pinballs.those glasses are screenprinted on the back side, and the ink gets brittle and can flake off if you so much as touch it,let alone using chemicals.i would assume the japanese use pretty much the same process.if it were mine, and it looked good installed and lit up,i would not touch it.

    Oops, too late.

But all is good. I found that the belly glass image was printed on a sheet of thin plastic. The image looked good, nice and white but I gave it a clean with windex anyway. I managed to get the grime off the glass which is really plastic but it didn't help. I think the yellowing I'm seeing around the edges is the reflection off the gold casing.

Am I correct? Does any one else have this machine and the belly image is yellow around the edges?

What color is the light bulb socket (black or white) ?
A picture of one would be good.

The yellowing around the belly glass could be tobacco staining. It happens on pachinko, why not pachislos too.

If the bulbs are 2 in each row (6 total per reel) then they are 12v. Which is what I am thinking they are. If it is just one in each row, (3 total per reel) then they are 24v. If they are the 12v, they are for sale in the Pachitalk Auction Site.

Thanks there are 6 per reel. I'll probably be able to use the ones off my King Camel parts machine.

Mine has the yellow look to it also. I also gave it a good cleaning but still yellow looking I am think like you the gold frame gives it that look.

Not to hijack but any one know what these stickers say? They are on the speed racer but have not a clue what they mean or even say.
