I looked on-line and didn't see any "right" transformers at the Shack? Do they stock them at store?
Ok, non-electrical speak, what are the requirements to power a early 90's ish game?

Thanks Mopar, the local shack had the suggested transformer !

BUT, the shooter still does not work !

The weird thing, it still works when I touch the back of the shooter motor. I'm truly at a loss...

Time to get a cheap meter and check continuity on the yellow lines. Did you open the shooter knob to see if there were any wires/connections in there?

You might try attaching a wire to the motor and to anywhere on the frame (like I said, the lock mechanism is good. Otherwise, for now, attach a wire to the motor somewhere and run a wire up to the shooter knob (outside the frame is fine). Put it under your finger when you turn the knob, it's a temp fix, but it should work.

try attaching a wire to the motor casing and then to the brass plate and reassemble it and see if it works

I agree, time to get a meter! I didn't open the shooter because I thought the shaft and the brass plate were the connection point.

I tried 3 different things: I attached a wire to the brass plate and jumped it into line. on the plug, to the the motor. No luck
I also tried to ground an open wire to an outlet and to the back of the motor. No luck
I also attached the wire to the back of the motor and held the other open end (Thinking that might complete the circuit). No luck
I'm going to attempt a video today and see if that help everyone see what I'm dealing with!

You know... had I known this wasn't just a Transformer issue I could have brought my meter and helped you fix this yesterday...

Is that Sinbad for sale yet...

I could probably swing by this weekend to give you a hand if you want another pair of more electronically oriented eyes to take a look.

    I would try this.

Put a glove on (insulate) to keep from touching the chrome part of the shooter, turn the shooter and try touching the back again.

If the shooter comes to life I would say that somewhere you have lost the connection from the chrome of the shooter and the workings in back.

actually u don't need a glove just turn the shooter touching only the blue part of the handle..

then try and complete the circuit by touching the back

I just tried by holding a dish towel on the chrome (and turning) and touching the motor...no action!

Hi Millermaster. When you removed the shooter knob from the machine, Did you take it apart? The silver dial is probably not making a connection within the handle itself.

    Good Luck!

Ok, I just doubled checked, the shooter is connected to the shaft directly. There are no wires and no other connections (besides the direct one ) When you turn the shooter, the shaft turns, which you would think would start the motor.

    Need MORE LUCK !!!

    UPDATE:

Wonder Land is up and running!

Thanks for all the advise and reading, a very strange problem. I took the yellow wire attached to the stepper motor and spliced in another wire and ran it to a frame screw. All fixed for now!

Hopefully no more problems for a long, long time!

    Pachitalk is still

CONGRATS!!! That is Awesome. Glad you got it fixed. That's one of the best things I like about this forum...Someone has a problem, Everyone tries to figure it out (A Mystery), and the machine is fixed.

    Fun Fun Fun!!!

    Enjoy!
