Default I BOUGHT A PACHISLO! - (need help!)

Ok, I found this machine on Craig's list for $35. (first photo) As you can see from the photos it lights up. It takes quarters and pays quarters when you win. Did I get a good deal or this machine only worth $35?

He didn't have the key for it. I can stick my hand inside the hole in the back and can slide what appears to be the sliding piece on the lock, but it won't open. (second photo is of what I can see in the hole in the back) Can someone tell me how to open it?

I've seen a video on U-Tube showing a 'big game' fever round on it. I also found a link in a PachiTalk thread which pointed to a 'research' entry for a Pegasus, although I don't know if it's the same one. That link was on an old thread and dead any way.

Any know the maker? Do we have a research entry for it?

    HELP!

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry can't help with the identification...but welcome to the lighter side of our addiction. Pachislo's are a very addicting thing also. I won't get into the debate on Pachinko's vs. Pachislo's I like both equally. But Pachislo's are definatlely FUN!

there should be a long brass looking bar on the right side of the machine, press either one of the brass looking tabs up or down to open it

the gold bars on the left need to be moved up or down to open the door. then you need to fix the problem with the coin acceptor so it works properly. early 90's machine.

You are right BB, I need to work on tokens only.

As for the locking bar. I can see (through the hole) where the key lock is supposed to move the sliding bar. I can move just the sliding bar up and down but it won't budge. I think I am moving it to the full extent but not sure. Am I sliding the right thing?

On the machines I have. I have found that the brass bar running from top to bottom inside the machine needs to be pressed down. this will cause the top and bottom latches to flip up and allow the door to open. it can be tough to do on some machines where the door fits tightly.

the sliding bar is the correct part. tip it up and see if the is an overflow hole in the bottom you can reach into.

Woo Hoo! I got it open! I used a long screw driver through one of the vent slots in the back to reach the actual upper latch. By moving that I got it open!

So... what's the key for? Is that light supposed to be on under the key? How about that light in the control board one the left of the reels in the last photo, is that supposed to be on? If I have lights that are out, are they all 24v or LEDS? Where do I get replacement leds and what are the part numbers from RatShack if I can get them there.

Holy Moly I have lots of questions!

IMO, an expensive door stop, but a nice price for a working pachislo. Congrats on your first!

congrats on your conversion the the other side i dont think thay ahve cookies over there??

    i have two thoughts

35 sounds like a great price for a working machine?? i would have bought it

secong y convert it back to tokens?? seems to me most people are trying to convert them to quarters not change them back to tokens/medals??

I think you got a great deal. I would have bought it for that in a heart beat. They should be 24v/28v bulbs in the older ones. I have them for sale in the Pachitalk Auction site.
Very nice machine. I like the older ones.

Mopar, PachiTalk is dedicated to the enjoyment of these machines in a home environment and therefore keeping the machines playing with tokens instead of $$ coins. Besides, we've turned on credit mode and then my wife played some coin through it and won a small jackpot but it was enough to put the credit to 50 (maximum) and run the machine out of coins... then it stopped and we had to reset it. Bummer. To guarantee the machine will do the full 'Big Game' cycle, I'll need to have about 200 to 300 coins in there... well, I just don't have that many quarters laying around the house!

Anyway, Since my last post we've obviously managed to get the machine playing and am starting to understand the internal switches and key. (Thanks to all who have helped! )

Does anyone have this machine? I have tried to change the odds, which is currently set to level 3, but have been unsuccessful at it. I've followed the instructions in the FAQ section but it didn't work. I turn off the machine, turn key to the right, turn on the machine, the level 3 shows on the front but no button on the front of the machine will make the number change. I've tried several buttons at the same time with no change either. Any ideas?

Also, I can't seem to locate the sound board to lower the volume. Any ideas there would be helpful too!

the odds button could be on the inside of the door or on the power supply.

follow your speaker wires to find the amp, the switch will be hidden somewhere on it

The button to change the odds is either on the inside of the door (normally by the screen) or on the power supply.
Follow the wires back from the speakers to the sound board. most machine have a 3 position switch loud/louder/ouch thats loud. that is why I add the volume controls in & started too sell them in the Auction site.
    hope that helps

OK, I traced the speaker wires back and they go to the large board under the reel window. I can't see any switches on it, although I haven't pulled it off to look under it... I'm a little nervous to.

As for the odds button, I can't locate any button on the inside of the machine except the power button.

I've also determined that the lights are LED so I'll be looking to find a few of these. Why would LED go out? Should I check the resistors before I replace them? Are there different voltage LEDs, I'm assuming they are so I'm assuming I'd need 24v ones right?

I really appreciate everyone's help! This is such a great web site!

you shouldn't have to take it off, feel around the amp, i've found the switch in the oddest places. is there an opening in the amp cover??

the lights may only work during bonus rounds, so, i would wait before doing anything with them.

the odds button usually is like a flat push button, its got to be in there somewhere.

how about some pics of inside door where the reels are, and around the power supply and back part of the machine
