Default Anyone know anything about this machine?

Has anyone seen this machine before? Any idea of it's age? I've had it my whole life (33 years) and I have no idea where it came from - it's just always been there. My parents aren't around to ask. I didn't even know pachinko was the real word for it. I did a search online and found this site. Thanks!

Welcome to PachiTalk, Lexicat!! We are glad to have you as part of our community!

It's hard to tell much from the one photo you posted. Could you post a few closeups of the front (including the stickers behind the glass), as well as a few of the back? That would really help us to identify your machine for you provide you with some information.

    Thanks in advance!!

Hey, Welcome to PachiTalk! I think we'll be able to help you somewhat. On the vintage models, there are really very few that were 'named' from the factory but many do seem to have a 'theme' to them. I tired to make out the name of the maker (the words on the front) but my poor eyes couldn't make it out.

Get us a couple of photos and concentrate on the following: The lower front area so we can see the manufacturer name, open both the main door and then the lower 'shooter door' and get a photo of labels on both side (I suspect the inspection tag is on the right), get a good close up of just the play 'cell', then one of the back (possibly two - top half, lower half).

From that you will gain a wealth of information!

Oh, DO NOT CLEAN IT WITH SOAP AND WATER! (in case no one's told you yet.)

I can't get any decent pictures of the stickers because I can't open the glass but I'm attaching on of the back. On the front it does say "Daido". On the bottom left it says "Takara Spotless", on the bottom right it has the #245 and everything else is Japanese.

No-ones ever told me not to wash it with soap and water but luckily I've never washed it. I used to play it as a kid but it's been in storage for 15+ years now. I just got it out and wiped it with a dry cloth.

    Does any of that help?

Thanks everyone - I had no idea there were so many people who knew what pachinko was!

Oh another question - can I have a locksmith make a key to open the glass?

    Thanks again,

Look at the back. On right right. See the wire with 'ring'? Pull it up... the glass opens.

Look at the back. On the left side. See the latch at the bottom? Pull it up.. hold it steady.. the machine swings out on the frame.

    More later.

Here's some basic info for you. You will need at least 50 balls to know if the machine works. You will need at 250 bare minimum to play, but at least 600 is recommended with 1,000 being a better number.

Your machine looks great. It appears all the covers are intact. Make sure, one you have enough post, to check out the resource area and read the 'how a vintage pachinko works'. While your machine is of a different model, they are similiar enough to get you going better.

Once you get the front glass open, there is a small latch on the lower door on the left (as you look from the front). Push down on this latch and the small lower door will swing open. Then you can get some good photos of the stickers. Look for one that has numbers in the middle of the japanese characters .. such as 47 and 6. These numbers will help us date the machine for you.

Your machine was made by Daido. The 'spotless' part is more of a 'model description' than a machine name.

Keep posting photos and we'll keep telling you more about your machine!

What a great looking machine!! So complete and in pristine condition!

With a little cleaning and minor restoration you will have a real gem in your collection!!

As Rusty says, keep the photos coming! We like to see pictures so that we can provide you with information and learn about the mechanics of different machines. I have not seen any other posts regarding vintage Daido machines, so I am interested to learn as much as I can about yours.
