Default Bud, King of Beers Officially Licensed

That's what the auction says. Pretty cool machine even if it is one that has been customized...

First thing is it's not officially licensed. If you'll look closely at the machine it's an Aruze.

Customized Aruze... so what is it worth? Sure looks like a nice job by someone. The seller is not truthful, obviously.

Last spring and summer these were rampant on ebay by a couple of sellers that are no longer around. They had a bunch of them and they were selling on average of about $200 to $225. We couldn't understand then why people would buy an $80 slot with a new face but there's a lot of people out there that just buy first and visit here later.

I know from reading other threads that the labor that went into this thing makes it worth it if you don't care about licensing. Darn nice job... take a look at the reels, etc. Someone spent a lot of time.

    About custom slots

To most people paying this much for a custom slot is not worth it. Most the people on this board are into the game play of a machine. There are some though that are willing to pay a lot more for a name. Enter the world of custom slots.

I am starting to make and sell custom slots myself so I can have some more cash to afford more machines for myself (I really want a Pachinko Twin Tales).

I just got done with a Custom Monopoly slot I have been working on
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6148919422
and I think it would be great if somebody bought it for $700

Just because somebody paid that much for a custom slot does not mean they were "ripped off". They are willing to pay this much to have this kind of a machine. A lot of works goes into a custom slot that has been properly done (including the reels).

Buying custom slots though off ebay is kind of tricky. Most people just replace the belly glass and I always wonder how sharp the graphics really are. I think there are many sellers that are just grabbing low res graphics off the web and printing them out. Looks fine on a slot machine when the photo is only 500 pixels tall but in real life I bet most of them look pretty bad.

Since I am not an importer, I pay about $190 for a machine ($130 plus $60 shipping). My materials cost me about $20 (volume control, wire, backlit film, etc.) so anything over $210 is "profit" but it takes a lot of labor to do a machine.

Time will tell if making custom slots and selling them on ebay are worth it.

BTW - I really don't like the reels on that BUDWEISER slot. Having so many of the symbols look the same is confusing. I am in the process of reworking my custom monopoly one so they stand out a little more from each other.

Your Monopoly custum job looks awsome. My best friend is a Monopoly nut, this might make a great gift for him. If you make anymore I'd be interested. You can pm if you want.

I also understand that a lot of work goes into customizing the machines. Some just do the belly glass which is kinda lame IMHO. You seemed to take a lot of pride in your work because it shows up on the final product.

I just think some of the auctions have gotten rediculous. This Bud went for over $700 plus shipping. That's a lot of six-packs

    Well check this one out!

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6146271489

$667.00 for a slot with a picture of a dodge viper on the bottom and the top reel.

I am in the process of making a full custom dodge viper slot and seeing what it does on ebay.

I'm amazed what a half-assed effort at customizing a pachislo can get at auction. That machine wasn't more than half done, IMHO. Not to take away from the quality of what WAS done, but I'd be interested to see what (if anything) the difference in bid would be with reels and upper glass finished.

Especially with all these private actions going on nowadays. I can't see bidding on any auction that is private. I just makes it too suspicious for me. That's just my 2 cents.
