Exclamation Does your spheres look like mine?

(Yes the thread title was considered before posting!)

OK, a while back someone posted a comment about the different writting on the pachinko balls. Last night I started going through and pulling out one of each 'type' in order to catalog them. I was amazed at the number of different types there are. I guess that my last name starting with the letter K was a cool coincidence because I found lots of balls the the letter K in them. Some had an HK (my daughter's initials), some with SK (my wife's initials) and some with a Circle-K.

I was also suprised at how many had the english characters on them.

So, I thought I would start this thread and take some photos of each unique ball type and post it here. Let's use the 'Thanks' button if you have any balls that have the same engaving on them as any of the ones in the that particular post.

    Post your own SPHERES!

    Here's my first submission:

These were one in my collection that have only readable english words, no symbols, no characters, etc.

Photo 1 in order: Turumi Center, Angel, Park
Photo 2 in order: Rocky, King, Rex, OK

As soon as someone replys to this post I put up some more, this way they post won't be combined.

I cant' get any good photos of mine. Any tips?

Anyway, I have one that says UNICORN separated by a star, one that says HAT--TRICK, one that says HEIWA separated by a dot, one that says CROWN separated by a double line, one that says "Ginza' in cursive writing separated by what looks like a small logo, another that says 'Sakura' in in cursive separated by a logo, one that says DON separated by a line, and one that says SOUSHOU separated by a dot.

    LMAO!

Either Mauk was being the straight man here and setting up Bird or we'll have to nick name Mauk as 'Whoosh!'

(Like whoosh... right over his head!)

Oh... to take photos... here's what I did.

First I'm shooting with a Nikon D80 (which helps alot). But, set your camera to Macro. This setting is many times identified with a 'flower' icon. Set the balls on something black and put some medium light on it. Take the photo from some distance back at the highest quality setting. Then in your photo editor, crop out the stuff you don't want and set the size down to 800x600. This will effectively 'zoom in' with having to have the lens right on the balls when the photo is taken.

I will have more to post soon. I've even been struck with a idea about a complete set that I will photograph soon. I think Sid will like it!
