Default Need help with Sanko Arabian

I was given this electronic Pachinko and need to ask some questions some I am guessing will be basic some deeper,
I have restored several vintage machines so I know the basics on that but this is a different creature.

The first thing is the problem it has, seems the ball shooter when you turn it to shoot has a short or something as it only shoots when you hold and turn the shooter just right,
I am guessing the shooter is a rheostat and could be dirty or worn, can we service these?

Other questions are about play, I opened it and placed a ball in each pocket all score, one spins the reels in the center,
I noticed this door, and opened it and see a digital display with a ball hole so I drop a ball in it, the machine just blares a loud alarm, I had to unplug it,

Here are pics of that, perhaps the "V" is for victory and that only opens when you win big

Do these machines have a reset, is there a way to check that they are working correctly?

I noticed a 3 position switch in the rear that is labeled in Japanese which position is it suppose to be in all seem to be the same?

    Many Thanks
    P.

Hello. I'm no expert, but here is what I know!

    1) The Ball shooter has a grounding ring that surrounds the shooter. You must touch this ring when twisting the shooter. All my modern games have this feature.

    2) This door you are opening will ONLY open during a "fever" mode! I would not force it open! Once you match 3 symbols you will enter the fever and that door should open. It may take several hundred balls into the start pocket before you get a fever.

    3) The sound is an alarm! "Don't touch" That would be like breaking into a slot machine here.

    4) There is a reset on all my games by the on/off switch

    5) The 3 position switch should be your volume control

Good Luck, I hope this helps!

You need to add to that signature of yours:

    Compirate,
My wife loves games and I get most of mine free or dirt cheap that's why I never have the coolest ones...

    Millermaster,
    Many thanks,
What a "Doh" on me, the ground ring makes sense and fixed that,

Yep, the 3 way switch is volume,
Here is my Duh question number 2,
    Where is the on/off switch?

What are the 2 sets of spring contacts like seen on home speaker backs for? speakers or hot leads?

I ran about 500-800 balls thru the machine itself, I hit the "start" pocket many times making the reels spin in fact I have spun the reels either cheating with the case open dropping in balls or playing fair a total of about 100 plus times now and have yet to see three line up on the reels, I am guessing they have it set where "Fever" isnt oftend?

    Last question,
The "Start" pocket has flippers or as I called them tulips but I have not seen them open either?

Otherwise all seem to work very well and finding the volume was very cool

    Many thanks!
    Cheers,
    P.

Hello Again, I'm glad we got some problems solved!

Without knowing your machine, I would guess your on/off switch is in the lower bottom left hand side ( looking at it from the back). Keep looking for that "flip" type switch, they are usually located next to a fuse and the reset button.

The stereo connections? Maybe post a picture n that one!

Depending on the game, those side flippers next to the start pocket may only open during a reach or fever round. Much like the larger center door.
I have different games and some open all the time and some very, very rarely.

I would consider a fever like a jackpot! We all want one, but it takes a long time! Keep playing

The spring contacts are frame connectors for the parlor. One is for telling if the door is open, the other tells if balls are 'loaned' - if your frame is a card reader frame - there will be buttons on the front tray that don't do anything.

If you look in the upper right side of the playfield, you should see the name of the game in Japanese and some numbers. The numbers are the odds of getting a bonus, probably something like 1:300 something. Sometimes these machine can be played a long time before you get a win.

The flippers open when the sub-roulette is won. Usually on the left center side of the playfield is a pass-thru pocket. When a ball passes through this, somewhere on the gameface either a red/green or 'X'/'O' will flash. If it stops on green/'X' (I think ), the tulip will open for a second. After a bonus, this will occur more often and for longer periods.

Out of the blue I hit the jackpot that had three in a line, it opened that hatch and I got several balls in there before the rear hopper went dry, and it would not feed more balls for shooting, the machine went thru a fever light and song show then stopped the show and the siren went off and would not stop until I unplugged the machine, even when I added to the hopper and fired more balls the siren kept yelling
is this correct or a problem? til I unplugged.

I had no luck finding an on/off switch or reset, the power goes out of the transformer up to the top right cornor looking from behind it goes into a box with those spring contacts on the outside and a couple fuses but I see no switches

I have at least 1 pachinko without an on/off switch so maybe yours doesn't have one..But you can try posting pics of the back of your machine to see if anyone with a similar machine might be able to point you in the right direction!!

Guess its my turn to beat this dead horse.
Just purchased my second pachinko, used, and its one of these Sankyo Arabian models. It has issues. When I power it up, it doesnt spring to life, stuff sorta powers on, some lights blink, the slot wheels light up, then start flashing, the ball launcher fires one out of every 5-10 turns and one of the rotary motors, lower right corner, at the end of the ball travel cycle, slowly turns continously.
I think the machine is depressed.
Or mabye the transformer is bad.
Im an electrician, and I did check for voltage on the transformer secondary side, and its putting out 24v. But im not sure if its enough 24v. If theres a problem in the electronics, im screwed, because thats not my cup of tea, but the transformer I can replace, to at least see if thats the problem. However, can I use a 24 volt, 60 Htz transformer, standard American voltage, or do I have to use a Japanese version to keep the power straight?
BTW, I can confirm that there are no power switches or reset buttons on this machine to be found.
Any help or advice on this unit would be greatly appreciated.
