    Default marudai prince tulip tuneup

    hey guys.

I picked up the two marudai princes from johnnynormal yesterday, and the tulips were definitely stuck. I did a video that I will post, but in the meantime I wanted to tell you how I got them going.

the tulips were not feeding the balls through. one tulip was stuck with a rusty ball in the bottom, so I pulled the tulip (used a brad nail puller) and knocked the ball loose to get it free. both tulips needed a slight adjustment in the little brass feet.

both of them were a bit toed inward and not allowing the ball to fall through. I bent the teeth outward just a tad, and the ball clears the brass tongue and closes the orange plastic tulips as it falls though to the chute.

got the tulips working and the jackpot mechanism works! wooo whooo!

one prince is riding again. tomorrow, onto the second prince. if I get them both going, one goes back to johnny, in appreciation for his generosity.

I love fixing these pachinkos. so much FUN to get them going again.

now, if I could just get into the cleaning and polishing. wish I could subcontract that to somebody else. gotta wait 'til I have a rush of OCD again.

When you look at the back of the machine, isn't it amazing how the 1950's pachinko's have so few parts? They got so much done with so little to work with!

Have you checked the measurements on the chrome? I wonder if its a standard size?

I knew you would get it running... but i didnt think this quick!

yep. I'm just a greasy mechanic, not a detailer.

only about once a month do I get really OCD and anal. that's when I start picking at the plastic and polishing. do the machines in batches when I get that urge to scrub.

    thanks for the feedback guys.
