I have to agree with you there. I loved Solid State. For X-mass two years ago the misses bought me all the music sound tracks that were out for GIS and Cowboy Bebob. What a great time I had ripping those and making play lists.

For some strange reason that doesn't surprise me one bit. Made me laugh out loud but didn't surprise me. I can hardly wait to see and hear how nice it turns out.

Who's idea of a sick joke was it to put an ad for an LED distributor at the top of this thread? My wife seen that and , then she informing me not to get any ideas.

Too late, I just have to learn how to build those nifty controller boards. Was even thinking about using fiber optic cables to highlight areas of the playing field so the holes I drilled would need to be so large.

    Thanks!

Fiber optic line is a great idea! There are some nice effects you could accomplish - I also have high speed drill bits in tiny tiny sizes already. This would also keep a limit on the space needed, as you would only have one set of output LED's. I was looking for a way to have lightning / electrical arcs jump across / down a playfield - That may be the solution... I was planning on spending hours drilling 3mm holes for tiny surface mount LED's, filling them with epoxy and using a router to run traces (lightning arcs) and filling them with electro-luminescent wire then epoxy.

I need to source some fiber for experimentation - Now Mrs. ShockSystem will need to smack me for other people giving me ideas!

hey shock. have you found cheap recording chips yet?

I found some small units that go into greeting cards, on ebay. about $3 each. I'll post when I get them installed. I plan to have a pug faced pachinko (convert the boar face) and use the barking dogs as a sound when you hit the jackpot. could have the yelping dog for the low balls, too. planning for Xmas presents.

    Hello all,

I have some new updates and will be taking some additional pictures soon. I also acquired 2.5ft of green electroluminescent (glowing) wire to work in around the launcher ramp.

I'm setting up my new work area for electronics and should be back to work on my light show controller board prototypes. I also received my USB video capture device (and my laptop works again - I hate Vista) so I will have higher quality videos to post on YouTube.

I'm still trying to figure out if I can use the surplus sound recorders (Saw III Figures) and limit the distortion in the audio. If I can cut that down they will work great for "win" sounds and sound bites.

Thanks everyone for all of your interest!

Nice to have you back Shock !

You do know that your electronics can bring you some extra income from your fellow Pachi hobbiest by offering the components and such so We , your fellow restorers can do modifications to our poor vintages that need a makeover

    Hello everyone,

I've almost completed setting up my electronics workstation and will be back to work on the electronics for the Ghost In The Shell upgrade. I will post the final board design and start a thread specifically dealing with electronics as soon as I can. I'm working on using new software to design a printed board once I have the design complete - then I can offer them to the rest of our group.
