Default Punchy the Clown has Arrived!

The machine arrived Friday morning I had to take off work to receive it which is wish I didnt have to do.

Two guys brought it up the 4 small steps to the buildings lobby when it got to the elevator we realized that it would not fit!!! Ugh

I knew what I had to do and that was to take the Backbox off as it was the reason the machine wouldnt fit into the elevator.

I told the guys to go as I would do it myself and that it would take awhile.

So upstairs I ran to get tools. I figured out how to open the Backbox and saw something I wasnt ready for. I had to remove 2 wire harnesses from the games PC boards in order to remove the Backbox!

I dint have my camera with me but had a marker in the tool box so as fast as I possibly could I started marking every connection and removed them.

People were coming in and out of the lobby and the machine was right in front of the elevator door! What a sight a 2/3 size pinball machine being taken apart in an apt building lobby.

I finally got the backbox off and took the machine to the basement in 2 pieces. The legs also had to come off!

Anyway I decided to keep it in the basement and not take it to the country house where I could play it very rarely.

I put it back together Yesterday with both wire harnesses installed exactly how they came out. Tearing down the arepachis so many times have paid off when it comes to taking things apart and putting them back together by memory! The numbering of the matching connectors with the marker was the main key. I just had to remember how the harnesses flowed through their brackets which I did just fine.

I powered up the machine and all came to life with the exception of the Display board! Deja Vu Remember the Junkyu? The machine played perfectly
but without the display No settings could be made nor Feature adjustments or scores to be had.

All day today I have been on Pinball sights writing to other Punchy Owners to see that I made all of my connections correctly but all were to busy to check their machines or get photos. I did get pics from one guy but it was too late as the display just started working without showing why it hadnt in the first place.

The machine is really great! Its simple of course as its gameplay is designed for children. But its still fun getting the high score! The machine can be set for either regular Pinball play or Redemption Play. I will get tickets to see how the redemption function works. Im looking forward to seeing the ticket dispenser work.

The lights ,sounds and all around visual of the machine is top notch. Its put together really well.

The Legs have 2 height settings one for children and one for adults.

There were only 103 made so its up there with the rare machine club.

I will take videos of it going over the game play and some features.

Here are some pics that I took a few hours ago! I should have removed the playfield glass but I was too tired after working on it all day.

You know I would have stopped and helped or something if I had been one of the people in the Lobby right then...

Must have been a sight to see...

Glad you managed to dissemble and reassemble it with not too many problems and it looks a super fun theme too

Be sure to check the power supply board for cold solder joints at the connector pins. BTW, the programming allows you to change the machine from "redemption" mode to normal pinball mode!
