    Default Pachistork strikes again!

    It's a girl!

This one's a Sankyo Akane (makes me think of Akane from Ranma 1/2).

The woman I got it from said they bought it at an antique shop when their son was 7 or 8, back in the early 80's. He just had to have it because it was so cool. She said he never played it, just kept it set up in his room.

The cell looks great. The door frame has some surface rust, but nothing steel wool can't handle. I had to reconnect the wiring for the lights, and make a rod to connect the top hopper to the ball stop lever. It came with a box of balls, but they're toast.

Interesting thing on the back is the molex plugs. There's an 8v and a 24v. The 8v connects to the lights. It looks like the 24v might go to a lifter(?).

I'm not a vintage guy, but couldn't say no to the theme.

    Enjoy!

That was said by mudfud in the 'lemur' video. It gave me a chuckle, so I 'borrowed' it!

If you mean that 2 pin connection next to where you have the 9V battery connected, that's a line in. This appears to be a transition machine, last of the flipper style for them. The style of payout mech is pretty close to what they were using in the first gen of knob shooters, also the cel is removeable, like more modern machines.

It's from my Sankyo/Bisty frames page. Pictures I've gathered from YJA and other sources, scrubbed out the game face so your just looking at the frame.

Attached is a pic of the back showing (crudely!) the cell locks, the payout/ball system locks and the 24VAC in (at least that's what it looks like to me, from frames from 1989-1999 at least)

No solenoids. All the 24v wires just pass through.

More pics of the back, and the inspection sticker.

Must be the last of the flippers, those connections probably go to the shooter motor and light control on later machines.

Date shown is 12/1981, around the last of the flippers!

I just picked up the exact machine and have been trying to figure out the purpose of 24v circuit.

If you want any pictures of my machine for reference feel free to let me know.

This is a transition frame for Sankyo. This frame supports both the mechanical flippers of the 'vintages' and the electrical shooters of the moderns. The 24v circuit was incorporated for the electrical shooter, but ours ended up with flippers instead. See post #9 for pictures of an Akane with an electrical shooter.

Would love to see a picture of yours!
