At the cost of $65, here's my thoughts...

From the looks of it, it appears to be a 'B type' and therefore wouldn't be considered 'rare'. Since you can generally find them for about half that cost I would be reluctant to pay the amount requested. Granted that the cheapers one are usually dirty and dusty. But since you will most likely spend some time cleaning and refreshing the machine anyway, the fact there is no extra dirt and dust would not save that much time in the effort.

There are some redeeming factors on this ad however. While the ad does not specify that the lights are working, it does indicate that you can play it. Thus you can be reasonably certain all the parts are there and none or broken which certainly adds value.

My suggestion, request a close up photo of the play cell. I would not pay more than $25 for this machine if there is water damage on the cell. I would even mention in the email requesting photos that they DON'T try to clean it with water prior to taking the photos. I would also request a photo of the back side (a full view but closer) in order to insure all the components are there and unbroken. It may have been broken since the last time they 'played' it and they are just not mentioning that little tid bit of informatin. If it still looks like a good machine, then I would probably make an offer but certainly not above $45.

The above process is how my feeble mind works when it comes to selecting machines to purchase. I generally throw all that out the window however if the price is right!

That's a 1978 Nishjin Sophia 'C' model. I have one very similar to it. Not many 'C' machines in circulation anymore.

The "all 15" in the upper right corner lights up during a jackpot payout and indicates that 15 balls are paid.

I would offer $45 and see what they say.

Hey Jack, thanks for the update on the machine type. I agree that the 'C' are a bit more rare and certainly can justify a bit more cost. I'd still want to see a photo of the back is possible before I spent to much effort on getting it.

I fully agree with you Rusty. If parts are broken or missing from the back, then is certainly wouldn't be worth much at all.
