Wow. That looks like a very clean PowerFlash-Flush.
Look at the closeup of the condition of the wood on the frame, and on the back. No dirt, no rust...

But look very closely at the back of the machine... There is no transformer!
(We all know that the powerflash needs 10v for the lights, and 24v for the solenoids!)

Whomever picks this bad boy up will have to do a little bit of rewiring... Not a big deal, but i just thought that i would point that out. I think the trick will be to find a transformer that supplies 10vac and 24vac. I located a laptop power supply that puts out 21vdc and 5vdc. That should work, but you may have to replace the bulbs with a lower voltage bulb.

If i didnt have one already, i would jump on this deal...

good luck mopar. go for it!

also, you could always use two transformers, or use the 9v for the lights and a 24 v source for the solenoids. just have to get the machine, right?

Does look clean, and shipping to UK is showing as $159-25...

But I think I will still hold out for another one to turn up over here

great idea, or wire several in series to total 18 - 20 volts (but knowing that one bad bulb and they're all out)

u don't have to change anything... just have to hook the extra wire from the transformer to the lights... one plug is all it takes

but allas the price is climbing already and with the economy as it is im guessing ill have to let it pass I have not given up yet but i have to consider shipping too

ill find one local for a steal of a deal some day

Hey fellas, a newbie here. I bought a Sanyo machine for my girl for Christmas and had so much fun with it that I bought another for myself. I noticed the PowerFlash machine currently on Ebay and noticed it's cell was different than another PowerFlash that I have seen (had an eagle theme in the center). Anyway, this brings me to my question: Are PF's hard to find relative to other machines of this era, are the two PF's I have seen essentially the same play-wise, and is one more desirable or harder to find than the other? Thanks very much for any info and thanks for a great forum. -JC

the powerflash with the thunderbird looking thing is a little bit newer, we think. it has a relay and a bit more complicated tulip series.

if you search for "powerflash has arrived" by eddie, he details the one that's on ebay, and I posted a long email and video of how my powerflash worked. I think that johnnynormal has the one like mine, and sharmoni and rusty have the one like eddie's?

they do come up, but are more unusual in having the solenoids inside that activate multiple tulips at a time. sort of an early "fever" effect. I think that we vintage pachinko people think they're "special", but then again, I think any vintage pachi is special

What is makes this machine rare is that it is the only model of Nishijin that uses the solenoids to open and close multiple tulips.
While it is playable without power, to get the full effect of this machine, you need to connect it to a transformer to power the solenoids and switches.

When the ball lands in the center Jackpot, the solenoids kick in and open ALL tulips at the same time.
When the ball lands in the Right or Left Side of the Jackpot, the solenoids open the jackpots on that side of the playfield.
When the ball lands in the Joker (Yellow Tulip), all open tulips on that side of the machine close.

Landing a ball in the upper tulip will open all tulips on that side in sequence. This is a mechanical operation, but i believe that it is another feature only available on the powerflash.

The only other Nishijin Vintage that I can think of that requires power is the Model-A Electric Shooter that Mopar has.

All Vintage Pancinko machines are Rare, but some models are rarer than others.

I'm guessing with all these variations of how to do things in the back of the machines, there was a whole bunch of experimentation by the manufacturers on how to handle everything from ball movement to scoring. The nwer machines look like they pretty much all work the same way.

What I find odd with my two machines, is how the older machine is a recycler, but the obviously newer one isn't. Both Nishijin's.
