Help please on a Nishajin ? error code

Gentlemen,

Trying to fix a Pachinko machine long distance (at my parents house), so sorry for lack of details... I've already poked around it myself, but nothing obvious (I knew that old mechanical one inside and out!).

This machine is a Nishajin (?) with a blinking error code 'E', or maybe 'E1'.

Anyone have a list of error codes or suggestions where to start (we have tried the very obvious, such as ensuring hopper is full, etc.)

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks!

THere are manuals on line with some machines.

The error codes are mostly the same from brand to brand.

But why all else fails, turn machine upside down and rock side to side gently to dislodge any balls that might be the problem.

Appreciate the help - I've finally gotten my hands on this machine, found and fixed the problem, and wanted to share the error code:

Problem - hopper release mechanism was jammed by a screw which fell into the reward hopper, and would not come out without dissasembly (i.e. turning the machine upside down wouldn't shake it lose).

Error code for a hopper release mechanism jam is an "E" followed by a single tick mark "|" (NOT a 1). If you see "E" and two tick marks "||", this indicates both release mechanisms are jammed.
