    Default Gear...

    This may sound..... Interesting...

I am looking for a gear that a pachinko ball will fit in the teeth of... Being disabled, I cannot run to the store and check.. hehehehe

Going to attach it to a motor and together with electrical conduit or other pipe, use it to lift pachinko balls in my planned 8 machine ball management system...

I don't have the motor yet, thought I would get the "gear" first and find a motor to fit...

    Any help appreciated...

Would work if it would fit... Dunno... Don't have one to try since I don't own a bike.. hehehe

I am kinda going for a VERY enlarged ball lifter unit.. Only it will feed 8 machines..

that was why I was thinking a sproket larger dia. more speed on the putside dia. you wouldn't need a real fast motor, i don't have a sproket to check, may be someone else here does and can check if it catchs at least 2/3 of the ball.

If I used too powerful of a motor, I would put the balls into low orbit!!!!

If anyone can find something that fits, let me know what it is, I can find it online or something...

Thanks for the help guys..

I do plan to photo-document the construction of this ball management system for the forums here.

Keep in mind being in a wheelchair I have to have help from others to perform actual construction.. So It may not go very fast.. But I do have the system planned out.

If I can locate an appropriate gear, the next item will be the motor.. I have had people suggest all kinds of motors.. Even power window motors.. But I need something fast as well as powerful to keep up with the demand.. Especially since I have 8 machines it will be feeding.. I want it to keep up with at least 2 machines in full fever mode..

I plan on using electrical conduit to transport the balls up to the hopper which will be a 5 gallon bucket.. From there, 8 PVC pipe tubes will fill each machine... a 9th will go to a dispenser so when the player runs out of balls they can just use a cup or something... The only other thing I am working on is the gate at each machine and how it will work...

Ideally I would like some sort of electrical gate, so I don't have to open it manually.. (Especially in fever mode) This is one of the things I have to figure out.. ANY IDEAS??? :-)

So I will probably start a new thread about this when I begin to get things together..

That must have been some project to get working.. WOW.. Its so cool to watch.. Could watch that for hours methinks...

Nice link.. Great place to look for motors and gears.. I still need to know what pitch or teeth a pachinko ball fits.. If I knew that, I could easily buy the right sprocket there.... Just don't want to go through a hit or miss type of scenario...

It is only about 30% done - Takes a lot of work though and goes real slow making it. I have not worked on it for about 6 months and need to start up again.

The motorcycle rear sprocket that I have seems to be an ideal match. It has 43 teeth and is 9 inches in diameter.

Sorry no I do not. I purchased this about 10 years ago for a project bike I was working on and never needed to use it. It was for a 1982 Honda CB750 nighthawk motorcycle. I would sell it for 10 dollars plus shipping. It is still sealed in it's original plastic.

How about a windshield wiper motor off an older car. Ought to be able to get one at junk yard for a little of nothing. They are very powerful and probably run fast enough for your ball lifter.

It looks like you have -just- enough room in the cabinet to put a pachinko machine in the bottom section, tap a hole into the top, and each ball can drop through the machine and down and out. Modify the machine to 'pretend' to pay out balls and set off all the bells and whistles. Though I guess that might spoil the earthy handcrafted ambience.

This sure looks like a great senior class science project you could sell for big bucks on eBay to a parent who wants Johnny to win first prize at the fair and go to MIT!
