Default Can the "empty" light be a "jackpot" light -nishijin style a

I just finished setting up the power to the lights on a Nishijin Style A.

The jackpot light (#1 in the center) lights up when there is a win. The top light (#2 top right in the photo) goes off when the machine is empty.

I think it would look better if both lights went off on every jackpot.

Has anyone ever done this? Or does anyone know how I could do this?

lots of people make that change

its not for me i like to have them work as intended

other have also added lights to other places even drilled threwe the back to add light where non we originaly intended...

some like it others dont changing the empty hopper light to a jackpot is no big change and wont hurt anything

if u like it change it

You can do this, but some thought would have to be done in the wiring.

Here's how it could be done. This is just my thought on this as I haven't actually done it. There may be other ways to make it happen. You can get a simple Diode at your local Radio Shack or electronic parts store for less than a buck. You might even be able to get on from a throw away device.

    Good luck!

if you want both the lights to fire with jackpot, just wire the corner light in parallel to the center one. then they both will light when you hit a jackpot.

you could also put a second bulb in the corner, I did this with my powerflash, so that the plastic lens gets lit with the jackpot, while the other bulb lights for the low tray.

my nishijin B actually had a second bulb holder cut in the plastic already, but you could easily screw another one next to the original one.

I added a couple LED's, too, behind the red plastic in the wings of the powerflash and 2 red LED's in the nishijin A jackpot window. there are all kinds of things to do.

ttc57 had a nice slow blinking LED setup with several Xmas bulbs on a battery pack. he had 2 or 3 in the center plastic pulsing, and one down by the jackpot seesaw window (a nishijin A).

Hey rusty, what kind of diode would you use for that?

I seem to find alot of uses for the 1n4001, but i really dont know the specs.

    Thanks

As for the actual diode spec or type, I have no idea!

I've done similiar on other experiments and while playing with my juke box. Mostly I just guess.

Sorry... I wish I could provide more .. but I'm REALLY a novice electrician!

I just play one on TV!

    Pictures please!

I have been thinking about adding one of those picture lights... but with a black light bulb. And maybe touching up some areas with black light paint.

I love the possibilities of what you could do with this machine!!
