    Default Comments on Daiichi

I came across this site while looking for ideas on how to mount 3 pachinko machines that I have to the wall. It is so nice to be able to see the cabinets that everyone has built used. They provide a lot of good ideas on how I will build mine.

In the meantime, I was looking for comments on a Daiichi and other pachinko machines that I have. I have been storing these for quite a few years, but plan to get them cleaned up and mounted in my basement.

I got the Daiichi in the late 60's, when I was about 7 years old, from my aunt and uncle who were coming back from Japan. I have been moving it around for years and feel pretty fortunate that I haven't broken the glass and still works.

I couldn't figure out how to upload the pictures into the message, so I'll link the pictures form another site.

I also have a Sanyo that I got in 1989 from a guy that was walking to the dumpster with it. He said it didn't work. I removed a piece of lint from under one of the ball feed arms and it worked fine.

It looks like it has an inspection sticker on it (in Japanese) with a hand written date. The hand written numbers are 49 11 21. Does this mean that it was inspected on November 21, 1949?

I have a 3rd machine also. Nishijin. A buddy of mine gave it to me 7 or 8 years ago. The chrome and other parts have surface corrosion, but it still works.

    Welcome to PachiTalk whiplash!!

You have some really nice Vintages there!!

If you ever need to post pics you can do so quite easily by clicking the 'go advanced' button at the bottom of the reply box, this opens up another box with rows of icons along the top

Simply click the one that looks like a PAPERCLIP and this opens up to allow you to browse your computer and choose the pics you want to upload

    I think the maximum size is 800 x 600

Thanks for the information. I didn't really believe that it could have been from1949, but I was sure trying to convince myself that it was.

Great machines and excellent photos! I hope you decide to visit the site more often as it appears you have lots of offer and hopefully we can help you with your machines.

Yes the cabinet forum has lots of ideas and there are TONS of different designs. I suggest you determine 'how' you want to present / play your machines, what mechanical limitations you may have (locks, latches, ball movements, etc.) and your available space before you settle on a design. I've made a couple of cabinets and my patterns and components have changed each time. My latest (3 Wide Cabinet) is the most simplistic I have made thus far in terms of how the machines fit in them.

Good luck and again, Welcome to the obsession support group!

Thanks for the advice. After reading these forums, I have already made changes in how I thought I would mount them. I initially thought about doing something simple with the existing frame of the machine, but I was worried how it would look on the wall. Building a complete cabinet around it is so much better than what I was initially thinking.

I like your 3 wide cabinet. I think I am going to make mine more modular with shelves in between, so if I get more I can reconfigure the layout.

I also appreciate all of the information on how to clean them up. Very useful.
